Hope Glen Farm

  • Starts at $1,500

In 1910, President Taft signed the bill to establish Glacier National Park as the country’s 10th national park. Mr. Healy was given a plumbing contractor for the train depot here in St. Paul, where he met Samuel Bartlett, the architect of many of the railroad depots and Glacier National Park Lodge. Healy then commissioned Bartlett to renovate and enlarge the house. In 1914, the farm was sold to John Healy, the owner of Healy Plumbing and Heating Company of St. Paul. Mr. Healy’s company became closely tied to the Great Northern Railroad, as it provided the heating and plumbing for many of the train depots that were being built around the country at that time. The farm was named Hope Glen Farm, the name of John Healy’s mother’s maiden name of Hope, and the house settles in a Glen, thus Hope Glen.

Hope Glen Farm was the perfect choice for our wedding venue. From the very first communication, the team was clear, detailed, and incredibly personable. They went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our special day was executed flawlessly. The coordination meetings leading up to the wedding, along with the helpful client portal, kept us on track and confident that everything would be perfect. On the day of, the staff was amazingly helpful and attentive - Eryka in particular was a true godsend, keeping us organized and responsive to our every need. The Bridal Bliss decor package they offer is a must, as the venue looked absolutely beautiful and pristine. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and feel the value we received was worth every penny. Plus a wedding night in a Tree House or Corn Crib Cottage? How can you beat that?! We highly recommend Hope Glen Farm to any couple looking for a stress-free, stunning wedding celebration.

Where to start!? Nothing but love over here. Maidenwood was everything we dreamed of and then some! We wanted an outdoor summer wedding with the comfort of modern amenities and Maidenwood is the perfect mix! When we toured the venue, I actually was so moved by the pine forest ceremony site that I cried. The blooming rose bushes and wildflowers coupled with a modern and elegant reception space truly meant we didn’t need much decor. No tablecloths or chair covers needed. Maidenwood is simply gorgeous and speaks for itself. We knew immediately that it was the right fit and booked our date that day. Over the next year, we worked with the owner Steve and his team. They checked in to see how we were doing and were just so easy to talk to, friendly, helpful, organized, professional, the list goes on. After getting married here last week, any expectations we had for the day were exceeded! Steve was a beacon of calm for us all day and Jana ran everything behind the scenes. We didn’t have to worry about a thing all day and were able to fully exist in the moment on our wedding day. It was purely magical! And we got SO many compliments on the venue. Photos do not do justice to Maidenwood, highly recommend checking it out yourself! These folks genuinely want you to have the best day of your life and you will not be disappointed. Thank you again, much love from Zak and Ashley!

413 on Wacouta is such an amazing venue and it was perfect for our wedding! The building has so much character we really didn’t need to do a ton of extra decorating and just let the spaces shine. It has a very Beauty and the Beast, speakeasy vibe which made for a beautiful and romantic setting. We had a little over 100 people which I felt fit the space well. Victoria is so much fun and was really wonderful to work with also! She sent photos and videos she had taken throughout the day and was such an asset in ensuring our day was special and ran smoothly. 10/10 I highly recommend if you are looking for an intimate, romantic downtown setting with a ton of charm!

Words cannot describe what an amazing experience it was to get married at Mendakota Country Club! Adena and the entire Mendakota staff made everything run seamlessly, and I received so many compliments after our wedding about how kind and helpful all of the staff members were. Adena was amazing throughout the planning process. As a bride without a wedding planner and planning from out of state, I had endless questions that Adena answered quickly and graciously. The country club was absolutely gorgeous, and it was so nice to get ready, have the ceremony, and host the reception all in one place. Many venues require additional planning from outside catering, so hiring Mendakota for all food and alcohol made the process so much less stressful. Adena helped us set up sunset photos after dinner, and those are some of my favorite photos that we took out on the golf course. I am so grateful for Mendakota's hospitality to help make our wedding day so beautiful and memorable and would recommend the venue to anyone planning a wedding!

My husband and I recently used Summit Manor Reception House for our wedding reception. It was wonderful!!! The staff was friendly, helpful and professional! They did a great job keeping the events of the night flowing and moving along and we didn't have to worry about a thing! Also, the food was delicious and they had a great variety of menus to choose from. Most of all, the owner, David, was SO accommodating, flexible and helpful!!! We had several special requests and he helped us with every one of them. Also, he was very helpful in planning the entire evening and helping our vision of the evening come true!! This is a beautiful place to have a wedding reception or any special occasion. It was perfect because people could be and do whatever they wanted throughout the evening. They could be outside or on the front porch talking and enjoying the beautiful weather, in the main room dancing, upstairs playing games or downstairs at the bar enjoying a drink! Absolutely EVERYONE enjoyed themselves!! Also, the cost is VERY affordable! There are several perks like they don't charge you to cut and serve the cake, you can bring in your own alcohol and they provide all the center pieces. Plus, you don't need to decorate because it is already such a beautiful setting. I would HIGHLY recommend using Summit Manor reception house!

  • Offers a sense of luxury

Venue considerations

  • No on-site guest accommodations
  • Does not have a dance floor
  • Lighting and sound are not included
The Commodore Bar & Restaurant was a mixed bag for our wedding day. While the space was beautiful and the food was amazing, their communication style was lacking and inconsistent throughout the planning process. Our coordinator changed after we signed the contract and no one communicated that with us. I was trying to plan the details and never had any luck with responses. We finally called around to other properties they managed to track down someone who could help. When we finally got introduced to our new contact we were able to finalize our logistics for the day. I would recommend anyone utilizing this venue to have a clear communication plan in place with the staff and confirm the next steps and process to make sure you don't run into any unnecessary stress like I had. The bartenders and day-of coordinator were great, and the venue itself was the star of the show, with lots of compliments from our guests on the beautiful flow and setup. Overall, the Commodore provided a memorable wedding experience, despite some frustrations with the communication throughout the planning process.

We had an unforgettable wedding at the University of Minnesota Campus Club in February. We had about 6 months to plan our wedding and working with the staff at the Campus Club made the planning process more fun than anything! They had great taste and suggestions for the wedding, responded quickly to questions, and were so kind. We were also allowed to have our dog at the ceremony! It made the planning process streamlined because we could have the ceremony, dinner, food, and the dance floor all in one place. The venue already had so much character that one doesn't need a lot of extra decorations (and extra work). The space is so large that it does not feel crowded to have the entire wedding at this location. What drew us to this location were the stunning views of Minneapolis, the incredible food options (the guests could not stop talking about the steak!), and the multiple options you had for room choices. We rented out the West Wing and the bar area, which proved to be a great option for guests to mingle after the ceremony and before dinner. With amazing views, delectable food, and a beautiful venue it made our wedding a perfect day!

We had an Amazing Wedding 10/15/2022 at Windows on Minnesota! Started the day with a get ready room prepared by the hotel and added on breakfast for the wedding party on the 3rd floor which was so spacious and made PERFECT get ready photos! Groomsmen used a suite to get ready in and we loved having our own spaces to keep the morning calm and special for all of us. Our ceremony was off site, but used Stars for a cocktail space for our 206 guests which had perfect views and LOVE the passed mushroom arancini appetizer!! My only recommendation is adding an extra bar (3rd bar for us) so the lines are not long for your guests. Our reception was in Galaxy and the plated dinner options were truly amazing, we chose Beef short ribs, asiago chicken, pesto salmon (thank you Chef Evan and Chef Mike for customizing) and the mushroom risotto! I continue to hear from our guests that each dinner option and pear salad was so good! Special shout our to Angel in Engineering for helping us with a special request! The banquet staff Michael, Diane, Melissa, Grace, Ricarda, Randy, Mohamud and Milton were so kind and accommodating to our guests. We brought in Sammy's Sweet Cupcakes which avoided the 5 per person cake cutting fee and loved each flavor. Sydney, Sarah and Scott were awesome with all our details and set ups along with communicating and updates that occurred. My husband and I were very chill and very organized during the planning process as I know the Sales team juggle so many events at Windows. After touring multiple venues in Minneapolis, the Lumber Exchange was the perfect choice for us. Without knowing exactly what our "dream wedding" would look like, the team at the Lumber Exchange guided us through planning in a way that organically created the PERFECT day and night for our wedding. The venue's new chef, Ali, was so incredible and worked with us to make a few changes to an already-DELICIOUS menu (we asked for a lighter sauce to go with the salmon) and the guests said all night that it was some of the best wedding food they've ever had! The parking ramp attached to the venue was great for guests to easily access an otherwise-intimidating downtown excursion! The bridal and groom's suites were both beautifully maintained and secure for the day and evening making it so comfortable to get ready and celebrate! Also, between the parking ramp rooftop, the stunning staircase and light shining in from downtown through the massive windows in the Dylan Room, the venue provided so many amazing photo opportunities. We were so at ease for the entire process, and we would recommend this space to anyone looking for a classy venue that is SO well-run, all of the typical stressors one might encounter in planning a wedding are completely taken care of. A special thanks to Hannah Fox who was our assigned (included in the cost of the rental) coordinator and Shannon who was the manager of the building for both our rehearsal and the entire wedding day. They were a dream team one can only........dream of! Attention to detail, charming personalities and complete support of all ideas we had!
