About this venue

In 1900, Frank D. Stout inherited part of his father’s lumber fortune, moved to Chicago, and within a few years was one of the wealthiest men in the country. Stout's was built in 1903 by Frank D. Stout as a summer retreat for his family and modeled after the famous Adirondack camps. Over the past 25 years, new cabins have been erected and we now have a total of 43 guest rooms on the Island. Imagine a ceremony on the South Lawn with panoramic views of Red Cedar Lake or a tranquil gathering in the former Stout Family master bedroom with a wood-burning fireplace. Stout’s Island Lodge offers an elegant yet relaxed setting with a selection of private event spaces for intimate groups to large tented weddings for up to 175 guests. We invite you to experience the history, comfort, and charm of this remarkable facility. Stout’s Island Lodge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a member of Historic Hotels of America.

A cozy room located in the Main Lodge with a barrel-vaulted ceiling and wood burning fireplace, Mrs. Stouts Room is perfect for business meetings, intimate dinners, or small social receptions.

Description

Exclusive use of the island and all facilities your group will be the only guests on the island. This includes rental of the Main Island, East Island, Great Room, Dining Room, Ice House, Mrs. Stout’s Room, all common areas, the ceremony fee, event space setup, and day-of coordination of rentals, deliveries, and staff. Receptions in most cases are held in a tent (40′x60′) which is erected on the main lawn. There are many rooms and areas that can be utilized in addition to the tent.

Peak pricing $4,500-8,500

Description

This option includes hosting of your ceremony on the island, rental of event space, setup of event space, and linens/table settings (we have simple white linens, brown napkins, and white/beige plates). Food and beverage are additional. Ceremonies: Outdoor wedding ceremonies can take place on the South Lawn, North Lawn, and in the gardens. Reception Your reception will be celebrated in the rustically elegant Ice House.
