My daughter and her husband chose Milton Ridge for their wedding venue. I live on the opposite coast so I had no opportunity to have a look myself. She and her husband were very happy with the layout of the property and the location. She assured me that staff were warm and friendly as well as very professional and that all questions were addressed promptly and in great detail. My daughter and her husband felt listened to and respected by everyone at Milton Ridge. I was anxious but it was their wedding and they had done a lot of research! I am overjoyed that they chose Milton Ridge for their very special day!! I spoke to many guests and family members that day and evening; everyone had high praise for the couple’s choice of venue. The property is self-contained with a beautiful turn of the century chapel on the lower level of the property and a very large bricked patio on the upper level; with an enormous wooden gazebo at one end and tiered garden area at the opposite end. Indoor or outdoor wedding?? Hard to choose as both areas are sooooo lovely. The Bridal suite and Grooms quarter are in a building adjacent to the chapel on the lower level of the property. Another turn of the century building with Bridal suite, porch and porch swing on the ground level and the Grooms quarters on the 2nd level via a private enclosed stairway; providing total privacy for both parties and their respective entourages. Both areas were very well appointed, comfortable and large; plenty of room for multiple people in each area to get ready for the big day! The Reception Hall was on the upper level with a porch and short stairway leading from the hall to the outdoor patio. The Hall was fresh and bright with plenty of room for DJ, tables, dance floor, bar and buffet without feeling overfilled or crowded. Bride and Groom chose the bar-b-que menu for their dinner; it was beautifully presented, delicious and plentiful. No one left Milton Ridge hungry that evening! The wait staff and bartenders were all very attentive and had obviously been very well trained at table service and bar service respectively. Music was provided by a DJ who was contracted by Milton Ridge and was included with the package that my daughter and her husband had chosen. The selection was a mix of old and new with the focus of getting the guests up and dancing. He was very good at his job and he accomplished his goal! Last but definitely not least; the photographer; also contracted with Milton Ridge! He was amazing!!! The unique shots, quality and beauty of his work left us speechless. He was everywhere, but never in the way, always inconspicuous and watching for that perfect candid shot. Even his posed photos had a very relaxed casual look about them. All photos were organized and available to the newlyweds on the Milton Ridge website within 10days of their wedding day!! ALL pictures belong to her and her husband to print, copy and share with whoever they wish!! Milton Ridge exceeded my expectation and I would never hesitate to recommend them to anyone!!

Sylvanside Farm was our first and only venue visit for our daughter’s wedding. The beautiful grounds and historical buildings on the farm made it an easy decision for us all. The owners, Terri and Jeff, have restored their property with utmost respect to its historical charm. Having on site lodging allowed both families to spend quality time together and hosting the rehearsal dinner on site made for an all around relaxing weekend. The curated list of preferred vendors, which Sylvanside provides, was very helpful and each vendor that we selected from their list was top notch. Terri and Jeff were very accommodating and responsive throughout the planning process and I highly recommend their venue for your special day.

If you are looking for a relaxed, charming and absolutely beautiful venue than this is the place! The house was built in the late 1700s and is chock full of beautiful antiques (and a super fun secret staircase!). There are multiple areas on the farm that can be used for a ceremony spot, photo ops and/or lovely hang spots! There are also chickens and goats roaming freely. Additionally Liz and her family were incredibly helpful. Liz went out of her way to help me fix some issues that were beyond my control and on the day of the wedding was at the ready to help with whatever we found we needed. Being able to have the farm the whole weekend was also a major plus. Ballenger Farm will forever have a special place in my heart, it was truly the best place to have such a memorable event and I look forward to going back one day.

Wes and Jill and all of Cimiez Manor made our wedding truly magical. We met Jill in November of 2019 right after we got engaged looking for a venue that could handle a moderately sized wedding without breaking the bank and still available on the most popular wedding date of 2020 at the time (10.10.2020). The venue is off the beaten trail up the road from Dry Mill Winery. When you drive down the road you see a beautiful manor house that checked off our first box. We walked into the house and Jill decorated the giant chalkboard wall with our name for an extra special touch. The high ceilings, giant chandelier, Victorian era decor, and the speakeasy charm had us hooked. Once we signed, Jill and Wes kept us updated on all the happenings at the venue and changes that incurred with a COVID wedding. They worked well with our wedding planner and we really couldn’t have had a better wedding. They even let us hide a bottle of whiskey on the property for good luck! If you are truly looking for a magical wedding, Cimiez Manor should be the first choice!

From start to finish, the team catered to our interests and really focused on creating a wedding that was memorable and unique to us. It was so nice giving a general vision to wedding planner Natallia and seeing what she and her team came up with to bring it to life...and boy did they DELIVER. They gave us the maximalist, royal court wedding of our dreams! Guests were blown away by the decor and people are still raving about the amazing food created by Zesty Gourmet. It was such a beautiful experience throughout and guests still call me up to tell me it was the BEST wedding they have ever been to. The best part? We had our wedding here last month, and we were blown away beyond expectations! Nicholas was our first point of contact, and within a day or so, we had our first phone call and he answered every question I had. He was so transparent from the very beginning and he also led our venue tour. As soon as we drove onto the property, we knew this was our venue. Nicholas stayed in contact with us throughout the next several months and was so prompt in his responses. We chose the gold package, and Alida was assigned as our coordinator. She was super helpful in the weeks leading up to the wedding, but we cannot get over how amazing she was on the day of. We had a mixup with an order for my signature drink (lychee martini) and received guava juice instead of lychee juice. My husband tried to arrange for someone else to bring it, but no luck due to time constraints. I was a bit bummed. Then, during our private dinner, Alida magically walks in with a lychee martini for me. I’m still not entirely sure how she arranged for it, but it was one of the best parts of our night. A few days later I find out that we actually forgot to bring the sparklers for our exit, but we had a sparkler exit at the wedding without a hitch… it turns out Alida had some extra and used those instead. There were little things throughout the day that *almost* went wrong, but Alida handled everything with such grace, found a solution, and somehow kept me calm through it all. We can’t thank her enough. The venue itself is stunning. Our guests had the best time and could not stop talking about the amazing food by Gala Cuisine. We were able to do a mixed Indian and American menu, which really set this venue aside for us! We loved every moment of our wedding and will think of it for years to come.

And the conservatory is the perfect place for your reception- the skylight!! Carleigh was an excellent partner throughout the planning process. She fielded my myriad of questions clearly and promptly, and was flexible with us on some of our requests. She has great relationships with many area vendors, and even went above and beyond to get us the vases we wanted after hearing us talk about them in our final meeting with her. The ballroom was perfect for the reception and the outdoor patio was beautiful for the ceremony. Everything was exactly how we had imagined it. The planning process went smoothly because we utilized a lot of The Manors preferred vendors. All of our vendors were incredible and knew the space well which was a huge plus. Kristin our day of/month of planner with the venue did an excellent job answering all of the questions that came up and was very honest about how some things would work on the day which was much appreciated. Kristin also ensured that the day itself went very smoothly. Thank you so much for making our vision come true!

We spent months researching barn/farm venues in Virginia, and there were clear differences between the commercial barn venues (fake) and the true country barn venues. Faith Like a Mustard Seed Farm (FLAMS) fell into our laps when we were searching the historical area and farmlands of Leesburg. Bonus #1: it’s an active farm with variety of animals that you can interact with and take pictures with! Not only do they advertise a classic red barn, there is a separate cocktail building with a backroom for the groomsmen, a cute cottage for the bridal party, and a pond down the hill with big willow tree that’s the perfect secluded spot for the first look! Bonus #2: FLAMS owners Patricia and Karl are two of the most kind-hearted, hard-working, and genuine people we’ve ever met! From the moment we first drove down the gravel road and Patricia was waving in excitement for us, we felt so welcome! During our walkthrough of the venue, seeing all the beautiful ceremony and reception options, we got to meet some of the farm animals and hear about the success story of their dream venture and where the name came from. It couldn’t have been a more meaningful story and we felt as if it was meant to be! We booked the venue months in advance for a June 2025 wedding, placed a deposit and signed the contract - which was simple and less than 10 pages. We found out we were pregnant in November 2024, and quickly called Patricia to discuss options. They were open to moving the date one time (which is outlined in their contract) as long as the date was open, so we moved it up to April 2025. They were genuinely excited for us and reassured us it would be the perfect day at the perfect time of the season. We wanted to do things a little untraditional and simplify things to make it easier on me considering I would be six months pregnant by then. We planned for a pre-wedding cocktail hour with drinks and some of our favorite snacks, (bonus #3: they setup a photoshoot for the guests with the mini horses!) We were able to pull off a pre-staged setup in the barn for the ceremony, dinner, and big reception, all without having to do any major rearrangements in between. We had an open bar the entire time, dinner buffet, DJ was setup on a stage in the corner, perfect display for our wedding cake, (bonus #4: Karl is a licensed officiant so we were blessed to have him marry us) and the whole plan was wonderfully executed by all. Even with the crazy weather (rain on and off all morning, and wild winds that shook the barn in even the quietest moments) Patricia and Karl did everything in their power to make our day smooth sailing and flawless. If something didn’t go as planned, it was resolved with the wedding coordinator before we ever knew about it! By the end of the night, we were all gathered on the dance floor, drinks up celebrating, and I remember seeing Patricia and Karl dancing alongside everyone. I was hoping they would get to enjoy their evening with us just as much as we got to enjoy ours, literally thanks to all their hard work and efforts to make our wedding day perfect. Faith Like a Mustard Seed Farm wasn’t just the perfect farm wedding venue with the perfect old red barn like I always dreamed of. It became one of the most sentimental places in our lives, on one of the most sentimental days of our lives, with every sentimental person in our lives - including Patricia and Karl. “Highly recommended” isn’t the proper term, it’s a MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE!

At Murray Hill we host only one wedding each week. This scheduling policy ensures that brides and vendors may begin preparations earlier in the week and finish them the day after the celebration in an unrushed fashion. Why you'll love this venue

  • Multiple event spaces
  • Has an intimate atmosphere
  • Flexible event spaces

Venue considerations

  • No on-premises lodging options

  • Requires outside catering services
We absolutely loved getting married at Murray Hill would recommend it to any couple looking for an outdoor, woodsy, ethereal wedding! Our ceremony at cocktail hour had the most beautiful views of the Potomac, and everything was so green and lush. Plus, the historic house was amazing to get ready in, and the property had lots of great locations for photographs. Our guests loved the setting and everyone we’ve shown our pictures to has gushed about the beauty of the location. Peggy and Donny were extremely flexible and easy to work with and gave us lots of opportunities to walk through the venue and drop things off and pick them up on the weekend of our wedding. This hugely helped us as a mostly DIY wedding not have to scramble the day before or day of. The barn was beautifully lit with twinkley lights, and Peggy let us use the fire pit and cornhole sets as an added activity during the reception. We booked nearly all of our vendors through Murray Hill’s preferred vendor list, which couldn’t have been a better choice. All the vendors had extensive experience on the property, making the day of a breeze. 100000/10 recommend!

We had the most AMAZING wedding here and the team at Belmont, Rhonda, Avery, and Elizabeth, were phenomenal throughout the whole process. They were very organized and ensured everything ran smoothly and was set up perfectly. They brought our vision to life and I could not be more thankful! They were always flexible and quick to respond to any questions and emails. They were always super helpful and knowledgeable. The venue itself is also beautiful and very spacious. The bridal and groom suite had so much room to get ready in and the grooms suite even has a pool table! All of our guests said this was one of the best wedding venues they have seen. The manor house is on the other side of the country club so it felt like its own venue and separate. The food is also amazing and great quality! All our guests were very impressed with all the food and said it was the best wedding food they have had! We had everything from hors d'oeuvres to late night snacks (definitely get the pizza!!). It's about average pricing to other similar venues in the area. You will not regret booking this venue!

Awarded Best of Zola
Overall, we were happy with our wedding at Briar Patch. I’m going to give an honest review about our experience below with both good things and some things to consider. Even with some things not going perfectly, we feel that we would choose this venue again if we had the choice. We were very happy with: 1. The ability to have a wedding weekend here for a relatively low price, the ability to have our rehearsal, welcome dinner, wedding ceremony, wedding reception, and breakfast on Sunday all at the same place but in different spaces onsite. This was very convenient and our entire wedding party could stay onsite with us. We enjoyed this. They gave my husband a Veteran’s discount, which we very much appreciated. The property is gorgeous, and we made use at our November wedding of the mountains in the background. T This fit our vision of a romantic rural venue that was elegant, but not pretentious, with lovely views. 2. Dan and Ellen were very nice to me and my husband. They brought us breakfast in the cottage on our wedding day so we could have a quiet breakfast together before the day started. That’s what we wanted. The Chef made my mom a special breakfast sandwich to order in the morning. They were accommodating about us bringing in lunch on Friday for the wedding party, snacks on the wedding day, and doing a customized breakfast for us on Sunday. We appreciated their ability to be flexible. 3. The fall colors were perfect, the horse was on property, we got amazing pictures under the stars, and we loved being able to make use of all of the spaces onsite for our different events. The scenery was really picturesque! The reception hall is perfect for a wedding reception and plenty of space for dancing. The location was close to Dulles for people to fly in and get there easily. 4. The cottage for the couple was fun and the kitchenette was nice. The bathtub was nice, and it was a good space for all of the ladies to get ready in on the day of the wedding, hang out, and have snacks. 5. On Friday night, we had a country western party themed welcome party and dinner in the space outside of the ballroom. We had adequate space to turn that space into a dance floor (near the fireplace) and set up food/drinks and tables for 50 in that space. Dan recommended Hammerdown BBQ, which is very nearby. We had people raving about the BBQ, saying it was the best cornbread they had ever had, and the best brisket. Things that could have been improved: 1. The rooms are quirky and there are insects and rodents around. If that is a deal breaker, than this may not be the place for you. It is rustic! That's part of the charm and also comes with some things that are unavoidable. 2. There are not bathrooms in all of the rooms and for some people in our wedding party, that was an issue. 3. There was some lack in communication between the owners and our wedding coordinators and caterer. 4. There were some issues where our coordinators couldn’t find Dan, Ellen, or staff on the day of the wedding when they needed them. 5. Some spots around the venue are not easily handicap accessible and there are not bathrooms at every site. Overall, we are satisfied with our choice to go with Briar Patch. It was a great choice and we have many happy memories and beautiful pictures from that day. For a wedding weekend near the DC area, you can’t beat the value and beauty of this venue!
