Something Borrowed Blooms

4.9

  • Starts at $250
  • Serves Grant Park, IL
  • Offer

Thousands of brides across the United States and Canada have trusted Something Borrowed Blooms to provide the perfect flowers for their wedding day. We offer brides the expensive peonies, delicate ranunculus, out-of-season anemones, and the ever-impossible-to-find-magnolia — all at a fraction of the cost.

The process of using something borrowed blooms was so easy. I loved that the flowers could be reused and that I wasn't going to spend thousands of dollars on flowers that would just be thrown away! They included the return label in the box with the flowers they shipped out, which was great because we did not have a printer at our destination wedding. All of our flowers were fake because I was also worried about the heat wilting our flowers. I only rented bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages and a dog collar- but I wish I had rented my centerpieces as well! Amazing experience with SBB all around!

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

4.9

  • Serves Grant Park, IL

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

I ordered the "peaches and cream" small package. We decided to skip on ceremony florals, and only have handhelds and bud vases at the reception. We did buy a few more flowers from the grocery to add more peach once the flowers arrived. We made and medium sized bridal bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, 3 corsages, and 7 bouts. (With lots of flowers left over). My bridesmaids and I did the arranging the morning before the wedding; it was fun, and a great start to the weekend. None of us had experience, but it all turned out great! If you or your bridal party are mildly crafty, I'd highly recommend it!

Jen is incredible and worth every penny! My husband and I weren't very sure about how we wanted our wedding florals to look. We also didn't want to spend thousands of dollars on flowers that would only last a day. We stumbled upon wood flowers and discovered Wood and Word Blooms! Working with Jen was wonderful and seamless. She helps you every step of the way to figure out what you would like. The DIY class was so much fun, and we were able to build all of our centerpieces, boutonnières, and bouquets. Jen also built my cascade bouquet and beautiful garland for us! Everything came out so beautifully and was perfect for our day. Thank you Jen!

As my fiancé and I started the wedding planning process, we joked that our loose theme would be “flowers and love.” We knew we wanted lots of beautiful, lush florals as the primary decor focus, and also knew we didn’t want to spend the many thousands of dollars to achieve that look with a standard florist. If you’re in the same boat, and have an appetite for some DIYing, I’d STRONGLY recommend working with Bloom Culture. After some Googling for DIY wedding florals, I came across Bloom Culture and spoke with Allison for a custom consultation. During the call, Allison helped me express the type of floral look we were going for, and built out a custom floral package that would achieve it. She also laid out the delivery and prep process, and we landed on a final package and timeline for delivery. We received a LARGE box of flowers the week before the wedding and were immediately pleased with the quantity and quality of flowers we had received. Allison’s guide mentioned that some crushed or damaged blooms would be completely normal, but everything was so well packaged we didn’t notice more than a few damaged stems. From there, the DIYing began. Between unpacking, trimming, de-thorning, trimming again, building bouquets, arrangements, boutonnieres, etc, etc, it was a LOT of work. However, we referenced Allison’s guides (written, video tutorials) religiously and they laid out everything perfectly. She strongly recommends having plenty of assistants -- pay attention to this advice! Find a few trusted friends or family members who have time and artistic ability and it will make all the difference in your stress levels. The flowers all lasted beautifully for the wedding and we received so many compliments on how they looked. Allison - thank you for everything!

Sherri did the flowers for our wedding & they turned out beautifully! Sherri was wonderful to work with from start to finish. She really took the time to understand our vision to know exactly what we wanted for our wedding day. She was creative in repurposing the ceremony flowers into a gorgeous piece for the sweetheart table in order to stay in budget, but still ensure I had everything I wanted. Naperville Florist did such an amazing job with our wedding. We asked for bouquets that feel very organic and whimsical and they totally delivered. We also were delivered an abundance of loose flowers to put into bud vases for our tables. Everything was so beautiful and the flowers remained fresh and alive all through the wedding. Floral Wonders did an amazing job for our wedding! I don’t know anything about flowers but I sent inspo pics of floral pillars and they absolutely nailed it. They were gorgeous and exactly how I had pictured them. They deconstructed the pillars after the ceremony for loose florals on the reception tables, which also turned out exactly as I had imagined. The boutonnières and corsages were perfect and the bridal party bouquets were beautiful. I loved my bridal bouquet - I’m in the process of preserving it into a resin table so I can keep it forever. Everyone I spoke to leading up to the wedding plus the staff onsite on the day of were so nice and professional - I am so happy we went with Floral Wonders for our wedding day!

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Tori Bennett and I am the owner of Lily in Bloom. I opened this business in the beginning of 2022 to support my growing family. I had just recently given birth to my daughter and I wanted to be able to stay home with her. So, I quit my job and opened a business working with something I absolutely love: FLOWERS! They can play such a key role and have so much impact in people’s most important days. I love that I have the opportunity to play a part in that!

As a photographer in the industry, I wanted to support another small biz in the area which is why I went to Tori for my floral needs but now that I’ve experience her talent, professionalism and kindness, I couldn’t go to anyone else or recommend her high enough to my clients!! She creates beautiful art with florals, is happy to work with people to find what is best for them and is extremely swift with her timing! I’m so thankful!

Vrinspirations

5.0

  • Starts at $55 per arrangement
  • Serves Grant Park, IL

We are a family business, everything started 2019. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management and I enjoy the process of planning events, decorations, scheduling, and timelines. I worked in the hotel business for almost 10 years until I realized that I wanted to start working in what I love and I'm passionate about. That's how I decided to open my own company!

We were looking for a day of planner and Lori was highly recommended to us by Kelly from Sew Bridal (who was given the recommendation by other brides). We ended up hiring VR Inspirations for the day of and rented couches, an arch and got florals for the arch. Our wedding day went so smoothly largely thanks to Lori and John. They went above and beyond, kept the timing perfect, made sure details were not forgotten, and allowed us to be worry free. We also hired their team to set up our entire wedding, centerpieces included, and it all looked so amazing! They had couches in the bridal suite and moved them around the venue for cocktail hour and the reception. They also found and saved me a piece of cake at the end of the night(and gave it to me the next day) when I was bummed that I didn’t eat any and wasn’t able to take any home!
