Built in 1893 by local architect Wallace L. Dow using Sioux Quartzite, the first Minnehaha County Courthouse was once the "largest courthouse between Chicago and Denver." Today, the Old Courthouse is the Siouxland Heritage Museums, offering free exhibits over three floors, including a restored courtroom.
