“My husband and I got engaged in 2023 and had planned for our wedding to be in July of 2025. For two years one of our biggest challenges was finding a photographer that was in our budget, that would still provide us with the perfect product we had invisioned in our minds. We had searched high and low finding MANY photographers that will say they can adjust their packages to fit our budget, and still somehow come up with a total of 4000 dollars. Then we found Sam. I was hesitant at first because I wanted a specific style I hadn’t seen in her galleries, a more sultry- whimsical- cinematic/ dramatic candid feel. However when I brought that up to Sam she had reassured me that her range of editorial styles and shooting styles was very large as she’s been doing this for YEARS, and had sent me some separate more recent shots she had taken to prove that. We had talked very in detail for days about the hours ineeded from her, pricing, I also explained she would be traveling (which is never a problem for Sam. She loves traveling! ) and we had made a very well customized package trimmed to fit my hours and budget. In the end I received ALL the pictures taken edited exactly how we wanted them. On the wedding day Sam did an amazing job of helping, taking charge of things, and making sure all of our needs were met. I swear she was half wedding planner half photographer. If I needed people to do something she made it happen if I needed people to start getting ready for pictures-she was on it. Her time management is absolutely insane and such a blessing to have on your wedding day. She had some of the best ideas I’ve ever heard when it came to certain poses I wanted accomplished or specific visions I had. She was energetic, hilarious, and made sure everyone had the best time taking these pictures. I couldn’t recommend Sam enough. “It is really hard for me to put into words just how amazing Katie and her husband Matt are. We found them through our friends who used them for their wedding. We knew we wanted to do a destination wedding, and our friends had attended one the year before in Jamaica which Katie and Matt photographed. Because of that wedding, they chose them to be their photographer for their wedding in Michigan. After we saw the photos from the destination wedding and our friend's engagement photos we knew they would be perfect for us. After we saw our friend's wedding photos we knew made the right choice. Katie and Matt from the beginning were super helpful and were incredibly integral on our wedding weekend and day. When they arrived in Mexico, they met up with us and started to work immediately. They came to our rehearsal helping us decide where to put our camera for filming the ceremony and other helpful advice for the day of. They helped find the PERFECT first look location. On the day of the wedding, Katie and Matt were energetic and came ready to help put us to ease. Katie and Matt just have a way of making you feel at ease and then make you look like models. They did a great combination of classic portraits but a lot of candid photos mixed in (which were my favorites). They stayed through the our whole reception and the photos we got look out of a bridal magazine. We had a secondary shoot the day after as a Trash the Dress photo shoot, and the sunset photos we got look like post cards. The only down side of using Katie and Matt is that they gave us too many photos we want to print and get framed! Book them for your destination wedding (or Michigan wedding) and you will absolutely be making the best decision!”
