We are located in Loon Lake, just 30 minutes north of Spokane and 15 minutes north of Deer Park. A Touch of Country has been owned and operated by the LaShaw family for over 100 years farming wheat, barley, lentils, peas and now Timothy hay. In 2005, owners Dick and Patti LaShaw opened their home and hearts to brides looking for a stylish country chic setting for their wedding day. A Touch of Country is the perfect venue with its beautiful rolling fields set against Mica Peak that create a stunning backdrop for your wedding day photos and memories. ​The Hitchin' Barn is an outdoor rustic elegant event venue, located near Blanchard, between Newport WA and Spirit Lake ID. (Only 45 minutes form Coeur d'Alene, Spokane or Sandpoint.) Our little piece of paradise is surrounded by 500 acres of private land: flower meadows, horse pastures, pine forests and grass fields. The Hitchin' Barn is the ideal place for a country wedding, but the barn can be dressed up or dressed down to match any style of event. We're open from mid-May through October and we can easily accommodate up to 200 guests inside the barn, and a lot more outdoor.
