Hope Glen Farm

5.0

  • Up to 280 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $1,500

In 1910, President Taft signed the bill to establish Glacier National Park as the country’s 10th national park. Mr. Healy was given a plumbing contractor for the train depot here in St. Paul, where he met Samuel Bartlett, the architect of many of the railroad depots and Glacier National Park Lodge. Healy then commissioned Bartlett to renovate and enlarge the house. In 1914, the farm was sold to John Healy, the owner of Healy Plumbing and Heating Company of St. Paul. Mr. Healy’s company became closely tied to the Great Northern Railroad, as it provided the heating and plumbing for many of the train depots that were being built around the country at that time. The farm was named Hope Glen Farm, the name of John Healy’s mother’s maiden name of Hope, and the house settles in a Glen, thus Hope Glen.

The Emerald Cottage on Hidden Lane was an exceptional venue. I used the space for a small gathering and the venue managers were communicative and friendly throughout the entire planning process, and their attention to detail was remarkable. The venue itself was clean, comfortable, and had a lovely pine interior that created a warm ambiance. They went above and beyond to support our group, even offering to help us load and unload our decor. This space is stunning for a wedding but would also make a great space for a rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, family get together or any other intimate group gathering.

My partner and I recently had our wedding at Madden's on Gull Lake, and we cannot stop raving about what an incredible experience it was. From the moment we started planning, the staff at Madden's proved to be exceptional in every way. The first thing that struck us was their professionalism and attentiveness. The staff at Madden's were simply amazing, from the initial consultation to the day of the event. They were always available to answer our questions and address any concerns we had. Their good communication made the entire planning process smooth and stress-free, putting our minds at ease knowing we were in capable hands. As for the big day, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and preferences. They flawlessly executed every detail, ensuring that our vision came to life exactly as we had imagined. Their dedication and passion for what they do shone through, and it truly felt like they were as invested in our special day as we were. The food was amazing! Our guests are still raving about how delicious everything was. The steak, in particular, was grilled to perfection, and we received numerous compliments on its tenderness and flavor. The au gratin potatoes were a total hit, pleasing everyone, and the desserts from the in-house bakery were both mouth watering and stunning. The entire dining experience was top-notch, and it's safe to say that Madden's culinary team surpassed all expectations. Beyond the wedding day itself, our entire wedding weekend at Madden's on Gull Lake was a seamless and delightful affair. Our guests loved staying on the property and enjoyed the various amenities and activities available. The pavilion at Madden's took our breath away - it was simply stunning and needed minimal decor to shine. Our guests were wowed by its beauty! Having Gull Lake as the backdrop for our ceremony was a dream come true, and the cherry on top was the pontoon cruise we enjoyed with our wedding party during cocktail hour. It was an unforgettable experience! We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Madden's on Gull Lake for making our wedding weekend the most memorable and magical experience of our lives. Their attention to detail, culinary expertise, and dedication to ensuring our happiness were second to none. FireFly Event Barn

5.0

Nevis, MN
  • Up to 299 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $6,000

Our vision for FireFly began 13 years ago and we searched all around our hometown area for a barn to fit our vision. This turned out to be IT: a beautiful dairy barn built in the 1940's! We've kept its rustic and authentic vibe alive and added a lot of flair. It's a happy place to be!

Why you'll love this venue

  • Multiple event spaces
  • Space for a large guest list
  • Flexible event spaces

Venue considerations

  • No built-in audiovisual options
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • No in-house catering options
FireFly Event Barn has been doing classic barn weddings before there was a trend. You could say they quite possibly started the nostalgic movement in Northern MN. As a wedding DJ I cannot say enough good things about this venue and it’s owners. Professionally I can share a few of the things I like most about FirFly. Lindsey is the coordinator and a wedding enthusiast. To her, weddings are not just her business but there is a personal sense of enthusiasm with every new couple. The venue is always clean, stocked with the necessities and accessible. The flexibility allows every couple to put their own personal touches into every wedding. The outdoor ceremony pavilion is right out of Country Living Magazine and your photos will be astonishing. The bridal suite is a cute and private place for the bride and her girls to get ready and relax. For the guys there is another suite to tell stories and share memories with the nervous groom. If you do not want to be seen before the wedding this is how it’s done. Outside there is plenty of room for mingling, yard games and if you want to hang out with your fiancé before your vows that is also totally cool. There is plenty of room for your guests and a great list of catering solutions. On a personal level, The Nicklason’s are just good people. Family oriented, loved in the community, hard working, genuine, and believers in the true beauty of positivity. Many couples come to FireFly hoping to intertwine their families and wind up leaving with two new friends in Lindsey and Brent. One of my favorite venues and I’m always happy and excited to be there whenever possible. Ryan Burns Spectrum Entertainment
