Valentine is our grandest location, and features a flowing 9,000 square-foot site plan designed for private events, courtyard weddings, receptions, exhibitions, productions and live performances. The venue is fully amenitized, and we provide experienced, professional site management, plus a commercial kitchen for client-selected catering teams. Originally built in the 1920’s in an area that has long served as the city’s seafood market east of Downtown, the building has lived many lives in its century of use; it’s been a hotel, a brothel, a fish and oyster company, and a commercial site for everything from glass blowing to marijuana cultivation. This mysterious history subtly informed our re-invention of the space.

There are truly not enough words to describe how incredible Marvimon was as a wedding venue. 
We had the wedding of our literal dreams — an all day affair that took place in both Valentine and Grass Room.

 Dana (Event Director) deserves every award there is in the wedding/event category. We opted out of a wedding planner because we were pretty confident in putting it together ourselves but of course there was A LOT to figure out and hurdles faced along the way. But thanks to Dana and Marvimon’s phenomenal team, the end result was truly magical. Between the organization, attention to detail, genuine care, and the list of unbelievable, pre-approved vendors (including a BIPOC, women-owned, and queer specific list which is where we primarily sourced everything) we didn’t realize that we not only got the venue of our dreams but the support it came with was extremely valuable. Not to mention the beautiful furniture, foliage and overall interior aesthetic that was there which removed any need for renting additional pieces. Weddings are exciting but everyone who has planned or is in the middle of planning one knows they are massively stressful. That said, the Marvimon team (ESPECIALLY DANA) didn’t have us worried at all. They were one of the biggest reasons we were at ease and confident things were going to run smoothly which I’m happy to report they did with flying rainbow colors! 100/10 CANNOT recommend enough!

The team at SmogShoppe was fantastic to work with from start to finish. Their communication was prompt, efficient, and incredibly helpful as we planned our wedding. The venue itself is truly unique and funky, with a fun and photo-friendly vibe that was perfect a laid-back wedding. Dana offered great suggestions and expertise to help us craft our idea of what our wedding would look and feel like, and the on-site staff were responsive and effective in executing everything seamlessly on the event day. We had absolutely no complaints - the venue was the perfect choice for us, and the entire SmogShoppe team was as friendly, helpful, and professional as we could have hoped. The Grass Room is such an amazing space to host a wedding or any other special celebration. It's a literal concrete jungle—as it has an awesome tropical green house vibe, while being located in the heart of downtown LA. I had the pleasure of planning and coordinating a wedding here, and it was such a great experience from start to finish. Dana, Clare, and the rest of the Marvimon team made the whole planning process so seamless for me and my clients. The venue itself needs little to no decor, as it is gorgeous on its own—but we had a lot of fun personalizing it to create a fun and unique vibe for the bride and groom's special day. After getting engaged in late 2020, my husband and I found ourselves at Cuyama Buckhorn during a trip to New Cuyama. New Cuyama was already a special place for us and after spending the afternoon at the recently renovated Buckhorn (it had also been under new ownership for just a year or two), we just knew it felt right. We reached out to the team and after a bit of back and forth, we ended up working with them to plan our special day. As it turned out, we were actually their very first wedding! Some may have seen this as a red flag, but we saw it as an opportunity and I’m so glad we did. Just a little background info – there are about 21 rooms at the Buckhorn and very few other places to stay in the area so this venue is really meant for intimate gatherings/smaller weddings. We had a total of 53 guests and a few stayed at the nearby Cuyama Oaks Ranch (glamping in yurts). When it came down to it, the entire Buckhorn team was incredibly flexible and accommodating. From the food to the deserts, they did it all and pretty much had everything we needed on site. The only outside vendors we hired were a DJ and a photographer! This being said, we already loved the Western-style aesthetic of the Buckhorn, so our vision was pretty much already intact and we didn’t need much outside decor or anything. We went for a summer camp kind of vibe and booked the entire hotel for the weekend so it really felt like a magical escape for all our friends and family. We worked with Executive Chef Daniel Horn to design our menu, Beverage Director Brandon on our custom cocktail menu, the in-house graphic designer Kiana on our wedding collateral and former Events Manager, Savannah Fox on everything in between. They truly catered to our every need throughout the process, but what really makes this team stand out is how they kept our vision alive and the weekend feeling magical despite some unfortunate weather. On the day of our wedding, it SNOWED early in the morning, hailed, and then rained. Our original plan was to have our ceremony and dinner outdoors and the venue was well-equipped with tons of heating lamps, fire pits, etc. so we figured dinner outside would be fine. Everything was set and then it began raining right before the ceremony. The General Manager literally carried a pool umbrella over my dad and I as we walked to the aisle. Talk about above and beyond!!! Magically, it stopped raining just in time for the ceremony to remain outside, but it was pretty cold so the entire Buckhorn team rallied together to breakdown the already set dinner outdoors and transition it inside. They managed to move the dinner in a matter of about 15 minutes and it looked just as beautiful inside as it did outside. I should also mention that if you’re coming from a city like Los Angeles or Santa Barbara, this venue was much more affordable and accommodating than any others I looked into. They handled all of the details so well and included things most other venues would not have. From the amazing food to the aesthetic, to the wonderful, wonderful staff, I could not recommend this venue more. If you have your wedding here, you are guaranteed to have the most incredible memories and photographs. The Buckhorn is truly an experience and the owners and staff are some of the friendliest, most amazing people in hospitality I have ever met. If you want a small, spirited, BEAUTIFUL wedding with desert valley vibes, this is the place for you.

Working with Foxen Canyon Ranch was the best decision we made, hands down. They are professional, courteous, their attention to detail is unmatched and their venue is sparkling clean and a dream space to design and plan a wedding in. They made it easy for vendor load in and load out. The venue has a lot of added bonuses like gas fire pits with seating, Edison lights over their built in bar with a bar back that could easily accommodate 4 or more bartenders for a large wedding. The outdoor space had string lights and up lights around the patio. The finished bar is a complete blank space to dream up the perfect reception in and the grounds allow for social distancing or events and ceremonies to be 100% outside. Their landscaping is neutral and allowed the floral designer to incorporate any color with ease. The caterer loved the private driveway and space they created for them to pull into and unload the food and beverage. We didn't encounter any long haul fees, which we have seen with other venues. They are tucked away and allow for a completely private event. If you are looking for a garden, ranch, industrial vibe- Foxen Canyon Ranch is a hidden gem amongst wedding venues in Santa Ynez. We highly recommend them!
