When she’s not wrangling your next of kin for formals by asserting her east coast kindness, you will probably find her in the woods, holding her hand in the air to catch a reflection of the sun’s rays. She has a knack for finding locations that make natural surroundings look like professional sets, placing her subjects in an ethereal glow that’s usually reserved for storybook endings. Shem Roose is a professional wedding photographer based in Richmond, Vermont. He truly enjoys documenting candid moments, portraits, and details in a way that accurately represents every wedding he shoots. Shem began shooting weddings in 2004 while juggling being a Stay at Home Dad, Husband, and freelance photographer. Not only is Shem’s wife his second photographer, but she also goes the extra mile to help couples, family members, and wedding vendors in almost any situation. Oh, and she’s really good at making funny noises to help kids or grown-ups to look at the camera if they’re feeling shy.

I'm Garret, and I want to help tell your story. Since my first photo class in college, I've been hooked. I found myself bringing my camera everywhere, but I wanted to do more. I started working with a professional wedding photographer and discovered that I loved the chaos, emotions, and opportunities that a wedding day presents. That was probably one of the best decisions I've ever made. Hundreds of weddings later, I'm still enjoying what I do as much as I did when I first started, perhaps even more. I feel extremely lucky to have found the love of my life, Scott, when we were studying abroad in Copenhagen, and we now spend our days dreaming up our next adventure! I've been obsessed with weddings and knew I wanted this to be my career after attending my first one when I was 14, and haven't looked back since. I can't wait to hear about your day!

Garren Poirier is the name and I CAN'T say I've been into photography since my dad gave me a camera back in 1982. I started getting interested in photography in 2004 after I bought my first camera for a trip across the pacific to Indonesia. From that point I was obsessed with taking pictures. I immersed myself in learning about photography through books, the internet and trial and error. My true passion in the beginning was landscape which I believed helped me with other aspects of photography, I love finding new ways to look at the world.
