The home started as a four room, story and a half house with a detached kitchen. During the civil war era the massive lawn, with huge oak and pecan trees, quickly became a favorite place for many young people in town for picnics and family gatherings. Your Something Old & New! Olde Dobbin Station will provide a unique experience for its clients through the use of old structures built in the early 1900’s, restored to their original look and feel, while adding a vintage touch. It became the community “swimming hole” according to many of the locals and remains a historical marker for the community and its residents. Olde Dobbin has recently renovated its final structure and officially has made it into a chapel. The “chapel” was initially used in the late 1800’s as a pump house for the nearby trains' steam.

We are a unique, family-owned and -operated wedding and event venue located on 10 acres, just 5 miles East of The Woodlands. Lone Star Hall, our existing barn, has a familiar dance hall feel and our amazing outdoor space feels like your own backyard. San Jacinto Hall, our brand-new modern farmhouse, can accommodate up to 225 guests and has an amazing back porch overlooking a grassy courtyard and the pond! Rentals range from Venue Only up to All-Inclusive or can be customized to anywhere in between. Alcohol must be purchased through the venue, but other than that, we have a 100% open vendor policy with no fees for outside vendors.

The town of Navasota was founded in 1854 and the tracks brought the railroad by 1859. One of the first buildings built here was a hotel, built by Ms. Louisa Loftin. She was quite the ambitious widow for a woman during the late nineteenth century. Conflicting research shows the hotel was either built as early as 1860 or as late as 1876. She soon met and married P. A. Smith and the hotel bore his name. At first, the railroad brought a great number of patrons, but, unfortunately, the Civil War brought the economy of Navasota as well as the success of the hotel, down, after only a few years.

“Oak Tree Manor,” as it was originally called, sits on its historic site on Spring Stuebner Road and is surrounded by century-old oak trees, some more than two hundred years old.
