About this venue
Built-in 1925, in the grand architectural style of Beaux-Arts Classical Revival, the Simon Theatre provided a splendid setting for many theatrical performances, film screenings and ballroom dances. The James Simon family commissioned Houston architect Alfred C. Finn, whose career included designing a number of prominent Houston buildings as well as the San Jacinto Monument, to design the theatre for the community of Brenham. Today, after a meticulous million-plus dollar renovation, the glamour and grand style lives on for future generations in the newly named Barnhill Center at Historic Simon Theatre. Looking for a one-of-a-kind ceremony venue? The Hasskarl Auditorium is a 321 seat vintage Vaudeville theatre restored to its original beauty with modern-day technology such as Digital Cinema Projection. The theatre makes for a one-of-a-kind ceremony location that you and your guests will never forget.

Bullock Ballroom
Golden chandeliers, ample windows and original wood flooring create an ambiance not to be forgotten.
The Bullock Ballroom offers seating for up to 200 people and features beautiful Chiavari chairs, original 1925 wood floors, gold and crystal chandeliers and wall sconces, and four different types of tables including conference, banquet, 60 inch round tables, and cocktail tables for a unique layout. The ballroom also offers a dedicated niche for a band or DJ, state-of-the-art Audio/video system, catering kitchen, and elegant restrooms.

BEST WEDDING EVER
Alex was amazing! She answered all our questions and accommodated to our schedule when we wanted to view. This venue is so unique that everyone will talk about your wedding over and over. It’s beautiful and it was truely a dream come true!
Perfect Wedding Venue
The Barnhill staff was so professional and our day was absolutely perfect! Alex did an outstanding job making certain to use the ballroom space efficiently. We had 130 guests, a full band with ample room for dancing, a full bar, cake and gift tables, and a buffet line. The reception was just perfect. The ceremony was in the Theatre which was accomodating for our limited mobility guests. Everything about the day was truly perfect.
Historic Barnhill Center
The Barnhill Center in beautiful downtown Brenham was the perfect venue for our large rehearsal dinner. Alex was incredibly helpful and essential in making our event a success.
The Perfect Wedding Venue
Having my daughter's wedding and reception at The Barnhill Center was amazing! It was so nice and convenient to be able to have the wedding ceremony in the theater and then the guests just go upstairs for the reception. The theater is absolutely beautiful! We loved the historic feel and look. The ballroom is so elegant with gorgeous chandeliers and beautiful wood floors. Most of our guests were from Houston, Austin and Dallas and many told us they were so impressed with the venue. The pictures online do not do it justice. My daughter and her fiance' (now husband) looked at pictures of the Barnhill Center and thought it was very pretty, but when they saw it in person they fell in love with it immediately and didn't want to look at any other venues. It is truly the perfect wedding venue! Not only is the Barnhill Center amazing, so is the staff. Working with Alexandra Dill was incredible. She went above and beyond anything we could have expected. She was very professional, first class and so much fun to work with. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed working with her. We were able to give our daughter her dream wedding because of The Barnhill Center at Historic Simon Theatre. We couldn't have asked for a better, more memorable experience!
