This magnificent Georgian-style home was built in 1914 for Cornelius Vanderbilt Truitt, a financier, and businessperson, by P. Thornton Marye, whose most famous project was the design of The Fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta. In 1937, the house was purchased by Nasour and Mary Mansour, the first generation of dry goods merchants known regionally for their Mansour’s Department Stores, first in LaGrange and then in other major cities in the region. The Truitt Vanderbilt Club has an incredible array of unique and experiential rooms, nooks, porches, crannies, lawns, and one-of-kind spots to make your special event very special. Construction on Mistletoe Bough began in 1890 but wasn't completed until 1895. The town banker had the vision to build the grandest home in Alexander City. Mathews Manor was built in 1930 and first opened as the Forks Inn Restaurant. It then became a private residence and was purchased by the current owners Debbie & Harold Mathews in 1999. After some remodeling, Rebecca Gardens first opened in 2001 for weddings and special events. Grace Hall was built and opened in 2003 to fulfill the desire to offer space for larger weddings & events. Across the street, Micah's Meadow held its' first wedding in 2009 and offers a peaceful outdoor setting for your ceremony.
