Hi, I am MirShanda the owner and chef of Kismet's Cakes located in Decatur, Ga. Growing up with a love of all things sweet and beautiful I found myself seeking a way to express myself both in the kitchen and artistically. Eventually, I found a way to combine my love of pastry and art. I decided to enroll at the Art Institute of Atlanta where I earned my degree in Culinary Arts with a concentration in baking and pastry. After graduating I worked for a short time in a bakery located in the Buckhead area and then chose to go into my business for myself.

CEG Bakery opened 7 years ago in (ATL) Buckhead. We support private, corporate and charitable events in addition to the local community. Bakery offerings include a wide range of baked goods and custom desserts influenced by our Southern heritage and French culinary training. We believe in producing natural products using seasonal local produce and small batch baking to control quality. Our clients and community become family, so it is important to us for them to be a part of the creative process no matter the occasion. At CEG we value quality in food and quality in service. We strive to create an emotional experience through our food.

After pursuing a degree in fine art with a concentration in graphic design and working in the industry I took an opportunity to open a restaurant and market with my mom. As fate would have it, that business lead me to grow my baking skills and I later combined that with my desire to create fine art and started Gingerspice Bakery. Her husband suggested she name the new amply fluffy creations Malvi, short for malvavisco, the Spanish word for marshmallow. She created Malvi Mallows using European-Style butter and Fair-Trade chocolate to make Malvi cookies extra rich, and dried hibiscus flowers, locally roasted espresso, whole vanilla bean, and organic Georgia peanuts to maximize marshmallow flavors, then built a business so that everyone can party s'more.
