I love to create… I’m in my happy place when I’m able to create. My career in floral design started while I was still in college obtaining a business degree. Like a lot of college students, I spent my summer interning in an office environment…and quickly realized that wasn’t how I wanted to live my life. I needed something different, something that would allow me to more fully utilize my creativity and desire to design. When I returned to campus in the fall, I started working part time at a small floral shop. It wasn’t long before I knew I’d found my love and my passion.

From a young age, I was captivated by the beauty of the natural world. I grew up running through fields, climbing trees, and planting secret gardens. The outdoors was a place of magic where my imagination could run free. Nature is still my biggest source of inspiration. I let the seasons guide the palette and form of my arrangements. I feel great design reflects its environment and I strive to create work that's fitting to its natural surroundings.

I grew up in a small country town in Illinois, where my family owns a greenhouse. Growing up in a greenhouse environment is unlike any other. Surrounded by beauty constantly and learning to work hard at a young age. Since I was a young girl, I was always playing with flowers from the plants of my family’s greenhouse. I would arrange all sorts of bouquets for the kitchen table at home. Thus began my dream to be a florist.

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

As a special event florist my mission is to create original, quality, lasting keepsake florals, which reflect the beauty and eternal love that they help celebrate. Everything from first contact to completion is done solely through me. Yep, I’m a one-woman show. I love having personal interactions with all my clients and customers. Creating something truly unique for you is my greatest passion. Every person has innate interests and passions, and I recognized from a very young age that creating beauty in my surroundings was something that I wanted to be a part of my life forever. Shortly after I learned to write, I could be found embellishing my letters with little hand-sketched swirls and flowers. Making flower crowns from dandelions I found outside was a staple pastime of my childhood. This inner drive to create has evolved as I grew older and when I was first introduced into the world of floral design in 2016, I quickly realized that I wanted flower arranging to be a part of my life in some way from then on.

We, my husband and I, started Fleurology for the need for a stronger connection with clients + the want to spend more time at home. We didn't know what we were in for with Fleurology Designs, but after 10 years in the floral industry (7 of those being with weddings and private events) my husband told me it was now or never to pursue my passions of being a business owner.
