Kindly Weddings is a team of professional filmmakers led by Austin Stoecklein. We have filmed weddings + commercial projects in just about every part of the world, for companies like Apple and Visa. Since 2010 we have been pushing the boundaries of what a wedding film can be, and our work has been seen by millions. Our goal is to make unique films, not generic wedding films.

We were on the fence about getting a wedding video at all. Most of the videos out there are cheesy and just not our style. Why spend the money? Then, we found Kindly. And wow, I'm so happy about it. During our first call with Austin, it was clear that he "gets it." He has incredible taste, and is excited about cool, interesting weddings with a lot of heart. As I described the vision for our wedding — an ode to old school Los Angeles taking place at the iconic Sunset Tower & Chateau Marmont hotels — we could see Austin's creative wheels turning. We decided to use a Super 8 camera to incorporate in the film, which added that grainy, vintage, home-video aesthetic to the final product. Austin also had the idea for us to send videos we recorded ourselves of our relationship and the time leading up to the wedding to incorporate in the film — making it not only a wedding video, but a story of our love. Here's one final anecdote to capture what made working with Kindly so spectacular. My husband and I both share the same favorite moment of the wedding: it was the end of the night, we were on the dance floor surrounded by all of our favorite people in the world, and Robyn's song, "Dancing On My Own" was playing. We were jumping up and down and spinning, and everywhere we looked, there was someone we loved. Forever that song will remind us of that moment. Well, when Austin sent us the final film, he had selected Robyn's "Dancing On My Own" to punctuate the final minutes. It took our breath away. We didn't ask for this song, or tell him this was our favorite moment. But he was there, not only observing behind the camera, but also experiencing the wedding with us, and he just *knew*. He knew the magic of that moment, and knew to capture it in the film. This is what you want in a wedding cinematographer. Someone who gets it: who gets the magic, who gets the moments that matter, who gets the story, who gets the aesthetic, and who turns it into the film you that almost 2 years later, you still watch every Saturday morning. Yep, we — two people who weren't sure we wanted to invest in a wedding video at all — still watch ours every Saturday morning because it's that special. We were given Simply Sweet Cakery as one of the bakery options through Wedgewood Weddings. After trying their sample cakes and desserts, I was very excited to select them for our wedding to make a small 2-tier cake and dessert bar for our guests. Our guests raved about all the desserts (cookies, mini cupcakes, bars) and I was very happy with our cake flavor selection (Vanilla with Raspberry Chantilly cream & Strawberry with Vanilla Chantilly cream)! The only reason I removed one star is because I had a vision for the cake, that was shared with the team via email (and rough photo attached here), but it did not end up as I had expected. I purchased a LEGO cake topper off of Etsy, and wanted to tie in LEGO florals and succulents instead of using our fresh florals. I provided a bag of pre-assembled orchids and succulents to place around the cake, but was surprised to see only one of each displayed, making the cake look very plain. I did say it could be adjusted from my suggestion, but I didn't expect that to mean more than half of the parts would be removed. So I think just having a means to communicate day-of, if something is that different, to confirm the couple is happy with the finished product would be helpful in the future. She was so helpful and professional and went above and beyond to make sure we had a plan A and plan B for the weather. We ended up moving the ceremony to the courtyard for shade and moving the reception inside to the grand hall, and it turned out beautifully. Not only was this an affordable option and we are happy with where our money went, but we received very professional, warm, and timely communication and assistance from Zoey from start to finish. Highly recommend hosting your wedding or event here!

The Grand Theater was a beautiful wedding venue, with a stunning space and amazing food. The staff was awesome and very attentive to our needs. However, we did have some issues with their communication and payment processes. There were a few instances where payments failed to go through due to their system having an error and they didn't tell us until days later. Towards the end, they also tried to overcharge us but we were able to catch these errors by referencing our contract. They quickly fixed the issues, but it was a bit frustrating to have to double-check and get everything sorted. Overall, the venue and staff were great, but be sure to carefully review your contract and keep on top of all payments to avoid any problems. I don't think any of the issues we had were malicious or done intentionally so I would recommend them!

I recently had my wedding reception at the Marriott Bayview Hotel in Newport Beach and I couldn't have been happier with the experience. From the very first consultation, Nathalie and Alesia were extremely attentive to all our demands and needs. Even though we had a limited time window of just 2 days to organize the event, Nathalie and Alesia went above and beyond to ensure that everything was in order and ready on time. They were flexible and accommodating, making sure that every detail was taken care of. They truly went the extra mile to ensure that our special day was as memorable as it could be. Overall, I would highly recommend the Marriott Bayview Hotel in Newport Beach for anyone looking to host a wedding reception. Nathalie and Alesia were simply amazing, and their professionalism and dedication to their work are truly unparalleled. Adina and the Event Set crew transformed the GMMA into a beautiful wedding site and experience. We picked them because the price was right and the views were beautiful. On the day of the event the flowers were more grand than we expected for our price point, the DJ was engaging, and the food was better than any wedding I’ve attended. They accommodated our Indo-Western wedding with great Indian and western food. We even had his and hers mocktails. The food was the most customizable experience we found on the market. And it was tasty max. Adina is respectful, caring and patient. Your photos will be amazing with the view and the flowers. Especially if you have Trisha as your photographer. She is a master of lighting and angles. She makes quick work of editing and getting the photos back to you. Overall a great experience, less stress, and an all inclusive experience with lots of personalization.

The Jewel of Ortega is an absolute dream. From the minute the venue manager responded to our inquiry, we were over the moon about this place. It checked all our boxes for a retreat style wedding for our wedding party, parents and grandparents, in a nature-filled spot in Southern California but not difficult to get to, customizable to our vision and desires, and with an authentic and laid back team. Before we left our first venue visit we knew we would sign. The previous venue manager was very flexible with our requests and everyone we worked with on the approved vendor list was incredible and excited to go back to The Jewel, although we did appreciate that we had the option to choose others too. A month before the wedding, said manager left the venue and we were so nervous about how the transition to the new manager Sally and her team would go, especially as we were planning a DIY wedding from abroad and had only visited the venue twice. The handover was absolutely seamless and turned out better than we could have ever imagined - which is a testament to the ownership. Sally and her crew worked their tails off from start to finish that weekend and looped us into every decision in a productive manner. They stepped up big time when our wedding coordinator didn't deliver. They made all of our guests comfortable and we all felt like we were home for the weekend, which everyone complimented us on. It was just a pleasure to get to know them as people too, really. Before we even left the venue, we were coming up with reasons to come stay again. Thank you and we will be back!!

We booked Paracel for our wedding tea ceremony & reception venue, and Matthew for our MC & DJ. We were thoroughly satisfied with our experience with the venue & Matthew. When set up, Paracel was such an beautiful venue to have our wedding reception. We would say the space was just right for about 200 guests with plenty of room for our other vendors to setup, including an outdoor patio. However, it would be good to know that the projector screen is right behind the stage which did prevent us having a slideshow as our sweetheart table arch backdrop did obstruct it. We opted for the Platinum Plate Menu & even had an opportunity to try the food before booking. According to our guests, they enjoyed the presentation of Lobster Fruit Salad. Other highlights included the House Special Lobster Garlic Noodles & Peking Duck with Steamed Bun. They thought the food was delicious & plentiful. The bar being indoors & close to the tables made it very convenient for many of our guests to easily grab a drink. Matthew was accommodating & was easy to communicate with throughout the planning. He also gave us suggestions and recommendations based on his experience. Matthew as a DJ & MC was also phenomenal. He exceeded our expectations with keeping our guests engaged & entertained. Despite his limited Vietnamese, his father was also there that night to assist with translating for our Vietnamese guests. Matthew really knew how to read the room & hype people up. As the night was coming to a close & the dance floor opened up, he seemed to know what music to play to keep the crowd going & even concluded the night with a special moment for us. Paracel has such an amazing package for a wedding reception. You would be hard pressed to find an experience as good as Paracel in the area. We highly recommend Paracel for your wedding or next event!

The Anaheim Hotel was an amazing venue for our wedding weekend! We held our entire wedding weekend (Welcome Dinner, Ceremony and Reception) at the Anaheim Hotel and are so glad we chose to work with them. The poolside Cabana added a touch of elegance and allowed our guests to mingle in a relaxed atmosphere. Our guests enjoyed watching the Disneyland fireworks poolside as the night wound down. The Veranda Lawn is a beautiful space for a ceremony and the ballroom is a fun space for a reception - spacious enough for our large guest list, yet intimate enough for heartfelt moments. Jamie from the hotel was great to work with planning our weekend. She is detailed, accommodating and has an upbeat attitude. She listened to our preferences and made our dreams come true. A short example of her attention to detail and care: our wedding day was hotter than forecasted and on the day of, she asked if we would want to set up umbrellas for our guests to keep them comfortable. She had them set up on short notice, making sure they were placed them exactly as we had asked. That attentive and professional attitude extended to the staff, they anticipating our needs before we even asked. The hotel's ability to host both the ceremony and reception made planning so much easier. The food was quite good, nearly every guest completely finished their plate. The bar team is stellar, everybody enjoyed their drinks. If you are looking for a beautiful space that will seamlessly host your wedding, look no further. Bonus: Having guest rooms on-site made the entire weekend convenient for our out-of-town family and friends.

I've been in the industry since 2014 and the Harper is by far one of my favorite venues to work at! As a planner/coordinator myself, I've worked with several venues and none are as professional and accommodating to its guests as well as its vendors. I always know that everyone that comes through Harper's doors are in good hands from beginning to end. Service is always impeccable--making the wedding planning process and the day-of as seamless as can be! I do not know any vendor nor any couple that has been dissatisfied with the Harper and this speaks volumes to how they treat the people they serve. On our wedding day and rehearsal as well she kept the whole crew on top of everything, and everything ran on time and seamlessly. I remember she came over to us during dinner reception and reminded us to take a moment to take it all in with each other – I now realized how important that was as I am still dreaming of that day and reliving all the moments in my mind. At the end of the evening – everything got packed neatly away into our cars so all we had to do was drive back. It was so amazing to work with her we cannot thank her and her team enough for their efforts to make our special day the best ever.
