Is there a discount on pricing if I am using the venue for a Reception Only?

Accepted Answer

The venue rental fee includes 5 hours of event time (no more, no less). You may use it for ceremony only, ceremony and reception, or reception only. There is no discount for ceremony or reception only.

Are there any additional fees other than the venue rental fee?

Accepted Answer

The only additional fee is a refundable $500 Damage Deposit. The terms of the deposit and other financials are explained in detail in your contract. There may be additional fees, costs and variances to the actual policies on this site and your specific contract. Please refer to your contract for specifics. In all cases the contract will hold precedence.

Will my Damage Deposit be processed?

Accepted Answer

Yes, your credit card or check will be processed. If there is no damage to the property, no breeches of the contract, and the venue is returned as received, your Damage Deposit will be fully refunded. It will take approximately two (2) weeks after your event date to process your refund.

Are tables, chairs, or any other rentals included in your pricing?

Tables and chairs are not included in the venue rental fee. We are "venue only". (Refer to first question above.) You are responsible to independently hire and contract all products and services for your event. We are happy to refer quality vendors for all of your rental needs (see our Vendors page).

What is included in your pricing?

4 hours for delivery and set-up of your rentals and decor, 5 hours of event time, One hour of tear-down and clean-up time for your vendors. On-site parking for Bridal Party. Off-site parking for guests. Off-site parking lot attendants. Shuttle Service to and from off-site parking for guests. One hour Rehearsal time prior to your event. One hour on-site Engagement Photo time with your photographer.

Is Alcohol permitted at my event?

Yes, you must use one of the Beverage Service providers from our Vendors page. No other alcohol is permitted to be brought onto the property for service. Our preferred service providers offer a variety of packages, from cash bars to partial- or fully-hosted service. We suggest contacting all of them for proposals and then selecting the one that best suits your needs and budget.

Are additional hours available for my event?

Yes. All events must end by 10:00 pm, and the venue must be vacated by 11:00pm. Your contract will specify the exact times for your event. The price for additional hours will vary based on whether they are purchased at contract signing, or after contract signing. The day of the week for the event, and the number of attendees at the event, will also impact the price for additional hours.

No, live bands and amplified live performances are not permitted at the venue.

Can I hire my own caterer?

Accepted Answer

We prefer the caterers on our list, but welcome you to bring your own. The preferred caterers have a good knowledge of the venue, the policies of the venue, and have already complied with our License and Insurance requirements. They may be required to schedule an on-site pre-event meeting with the Venue Director upon our request. They must be approved prior to you contracting their services.

Can I hire in my own vendors?

Yes. Exceptions are Beverage and DJ Services. You are required to use one of the vendors from our list for those services. All vendors and service providers must meet certain requirements from The Red Horse Barn and The City of Huntington Beach. We suggest that you do not contract any vendors or place any deposits until you have verified that they are able to provide the necessary documents.

Are there advantages in using your Preferred Vendors?

Yes, because they have already provided the documents and satisfied the requirements necessary to provide services at The Red Horse Barn, it saves you time and effort. Also, these vendors have a proven record of providing outstanding products and services at The Red Horse Barn.

Question 18

Do you provide an Event Planner or Coordinator?

Accepted Answer

No, we highly encourage you to hire at least a “Day-of” Coordinator. Your coordinator takes on all the task of making sure your event runs smoothly, from managing and overseeing the first delivery, to the teaar-down and clean-up of the venue. Do not underestimate the amount of work that goes into executing an event. You will find recommendations for coordinators on our Vendors page.

Are there on-site hotel accommodations?

No, The Red Horse Barn is located at The Huntington Central Park Equestrian Center, and there are no over-night accommodations at the facility. However, there are many nearby and local hotels, and we are happy to make recommendations.

Question 20

Will there be on-site Red Horse Barn staff at the facility the day of my event?

Accepted Answer

Yes, there will be a Facility Director (FD) on-site from the four hours prior to your event time through the end of tear-down. The FD will direct vendor parking and oversee the facility during your event and is authorized to enforce the policies and procedures of the venue and your contract, as well as other venue-related duties.

Is The Red Horse Barn available for Engagement Photos?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when you book your wedding at The Red Horse Barn we allow you to reserve time for an Engagement Photo Shoot. Based on availability, and by appointment only, you will be provided one hour for the photo shoot. If you would like to do wardrobe changes, you will be provided access to one of our indoor areas.

May I trailer my own horse to the facility for photos?

In order to bring your own horse(s) onto the property, you must adhere to the specific guidelines of the Huntington Central Park Equestrian Center (HCPEC). Please direct all inquiries to the HCPEC Office at 714-848-6565.

What restroom facilities will be available for my event?

Accepted Answer

During your set-up time, four hours prior to your event, the restrooms in the Grooms Area are available for use for your bridal party and vendors. The restroom in the Bride's Apartment is also available at this time to whomever the Bride allows. If your guest count is 175 or more, additional portable restrooms will be provided.

When can my Rehearsal be scheduled?

Rehearsals are typically scheduled for the Thursday prior to your event. One-hour of rehearsal time is included in your venue rental fee.

What are The Red Horse Barn's curfew times?

Accepted Answer

All events must end by 10:00 pm. Alcohol service must end 30 minutes prior to the contracted end time of the event. Music levels must be lowered at 9:40 pm. The last song must begin no later than 10 minutes prior to the end of the event.

Do you allow lawn games?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we allow games that do not require staking into the ground and have a low impact on the grass, such as Corn Hole, Ladder Ball, Giant Jenga, etc. If you plan to provide lawn games as guest entertainment, please inquire about specifics.

Are there other restrictions regarding the lawn areas?

Accepted Answer

Yes, our landscapers work very hard to keep the lawn nice for every event. Therefore, we prohibit items that we have determined to cause high wear and tear on the lawn. These prohibited items include, but are not limited to: No buffet or food service tables on the lawn, no beverage or bar set-ups on the lawn, and no staking into the lawn.

Do you allow Ceremonies on the lawn?

Yes, you are permitted to have your ceremony on the lawn.

Do you allow rose petals on the ground?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we allow the use of rose petals on the ground for the ceremony. Petals must be cleaned up immediately after the ceremony, including any on the lawn. If you are using petals on a concrete or hardscaped area, they must be white or ivory only. Rose petal stains that require pressure washing to remove may result in a partial loss of your damage deposit.

What is the inclement weather plan?

You will need to monitor the weather forecasts in the days prior to your event. It is your responsibility to secure your own covering via your rental company. We suggest that you put your plan into action early. If you are considering adding tenting and/or heaters due to possible inclement weather, so are many others, which means that availability may be limited.

What about Parking for the Bridal Party and guests?

You will be provided twelve (12) VIP parking passes for on-site parking. You may use these for whomever you choose. All remaining cars will be required to park off-site. Off-site parking is across the street at the Sports Complex or other designated lot. Shuttle service and parking passes will be provided and are included in the venue rental fee.

All prices are subject to change until secured with a sign and countersigned contract and payment of the deposit has been received.

When do I pay the Damage Deposit?

The Refundable Damage Deposit of $500 is not included in the venue rental fee. The damage deposit payment will be included in the payment to the venue made sixty (60) days prior to the event date.

How much is the Deposit to secure the date?

The deposit amount to secure your date is a $1,600 flat fee, due upon booking the venue.

Can I transfer my event date?

All dates are considered final once the contract has been signed by both parties. It is at the sole discretion of the venue if a transfer of the event date will be accepted. If a transfer of the event date is approved by the venue, you will incur an additional $75 administrative fee.
