I began, 2017; ‘Editorial Fashion’ working with modeling agencies. Then doing my 1st wedding by request in Taiwan for a Luxury Editorial style wedding. I completely fell in love with wedding imagery and the process that all goes into the experience. From there ‘I’ became ‘we’ as my team grew. I started Megan Pontius Photography after I graduated Highschool in 2021. I didn't really get into couples photography until I got married in 2022. It wasn't until then that I really saw the different seasons in a relationship. I have studied fine art photography long before I ever started taking portraits of other people and shooting weddings. Fine art photography was my beginning, creating conceptual and authentic art that spoke to me and told my story was what I started with and then I started blurring that line between fine art and documentary. I started documenting other people and their lives in the same way that I created my own work intended for shows and galleries. That is how I came to the style that I shoot now, still blending the two parts of my life.

I’m a music-loving, art nerd located near Detroit, Michigan. I’m sure if we were to meet in person it would be over coffee, hell maybe (hopefully) even a joint.
