Some features include exposed heart-of-pine beams, hardwood floors throughout, and enormous bay windows with views of South Front Street.

Located near Myrtle Beach, this historic Victorian home turned private event venue was built with love in 1910 by local sea merchant Clarence McCorsley, for his new bride Essie Bessent-McCorsley, to be the house of her dreams. Saint Thomas was the first Catholic church in Wilmington, built in 1847. Although no longer a church, this beautifully-restored venue in the heart of historic downtown Wilmington is listed on the National Historic Register. Our exposed brick walls, gorgeous stained glass windows, high ceilings and upper balcony make Saint Thomas a perfect backdrop for your wedding.

In the year of 1762, Mr. Newberry and Mr. Thames purchased the land from Mr. Gray. In the deed, there was mention of a sawmill and grist mill on the place, but no mention of a house. In 1833 Mr. Byrne purchased the land from Mr. Newberry. At this time the house and store were on the land. Later on Mr. Byrne sold the land, and it change hands several times..." The house served as a mill home, store, and the Gray's Creek post office for many years.
