I am a self-taught macaron baker since fall 2018. When I was introduced to macarons and saw how versatile, pretty and flavorful macarons could be, I decided to perfect the technique so I could provide them at the weddings, showers and birthdays for all my friends. As my experience grew I started receiving requests from people all over Pittsburgh to add a unique twist to their sweetest moments, so much so that in September of 2021, I quit my corporate job to bake full-time! I absolutely love being able to enhance a wedding, baby shower or bridesmaid proposal with some rare, scrumptious treats that everyone is delighted to see and taste.

Pastries A-La Carte is a family owned business that began with the owner baking fresh, unique cakes right from her home. Due to the popularity of her products, she opened her own store front on April 9, 2004 and now boasts an extensive product line of pastries, pies, cakes, cupcakes, danishes, cheesecakes, specialty cookies, and more. Pastries A-La Carte is featured through many local establishments such as: Aramark (in association with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Pirates), The Georgetown Centre, LeMont, George Washington Hotel, and more.

The Millie’s story began back in the summer of 2014 when co-founder, Chad Townsend, decided it was time for a career change. After years of hustling as a renowned chef in the fast-paced world of fine dining, he was ready to leave it all behind. On a whim, he purchased a Paco-Jet™ – a fancy Swiss-made kitchen appliance that micro-purees deep-freezed foods to a fine texture to produce ice creams and sorbets. Fun facts: Paco-Jets are like, really, really expensive & this purchase was on his wife’s credit card (oof).

I love creating ice cream! Give me a flavor, or a cookie, and let me turn it into an ice cream creation! We opened in 2015 and have expanded into 3 shops since! We are a full Coffee bar as well, but creating amazing ice cream is my true calling!
