The Terminal, located at Lakefront Airport, is a New Orleans Tradition, dating back to the 1930's. At the time of its grand opening it was considered an architectural masterpiece. Built by the same architect that designed the Louisiana State Capitol building, it was the first major airport in the region, and served proudly as a general aviation airport to this day. Inside the terminal building, travelers would find an Art Deco wonderland, featuring murals by artist Xavier Gonzalez, friezes by Enrique R. Alferez and an array of stone wall and floor treatments. After decades of rest, the great hall of Sts. Peter & Paul has been lovingly restored with carfeul attention. Built in 1861, every pane of stained glass is infused with history and every brick with stores of days past. The reverberant and resonant hall is located squarely in the Faubourg Marigny, the city's eclectic hub for art, cuisine, and entertainment and only a short walk (or second line) from Frenchmen Street and the French Quarter. The church has served as a haven and gathering place for over a century and a half, and now, we open her doors to you and yours. Access to the space for a ceremony, cocktail hour and reception includes a 4.5 hour event. We also welcome ceremony-only and reception-only events. Our venue is a part of the greater Hotel Peter and Paul, with 71 hotel rooms across three historic buildings, the former schoolhouse, convent and rectory.
