“We had our wedding reception at the Boone County Museum of History on July 6 and it was absolutely one of the best decisions we made in the entire wedding planning process! I grew up going to the museum and we had guests coming up to us all night telling us it was their first time there and how excited they were to see the museum for the first time and how they wanted to come back and spend more time there, and people saying they wanted to spend all night looking through the exhibits. The gallery space was perfect for our 125 guests and there was plenty of space to set up our buffet table, dessert table, and the bar on top of that. There was even enough room for a dance space near the entryway! The museum staff were absolutely the best throughout planning, answering all of our questions right away and helping us to figure out the layout when the time came. We were able to have plenty of personalized touches throughout our decor and our setup, and the staff even allowed us to set up a personalized scavenger hunt throughout the exhibits to find items we'd chosen based on our relationship. The Boone County Museum of History is 100% the best value for a wedding venue you could find in the area and is an absolutely gorgeous and special venue for any of your events, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding venue in the Belvidere-Rockford area!”

“We fell in love with 10 South when we attended a wedding a few months before getting engaged. When we went to tour, it was truly love at first sight and we booked our wedding day, that very moment. The exposed brick throughout the venue and the bride and groom suites are what really sold us! The size is also perfect, whether it’s a smaller guest count or large! They made the touring experience so special, we each got to pick one drink from their specialty cocktails. And it was very personable. We ended up booking one of the coordinator packages, which got us a couple meetings and had the same experience during those as well. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and would recommend vendors that we were still needing. We worked with Megan and she made the whole process so easy! Communication was great and emails were always responded to in a very timely manner. Our wedding day went so smoothly, even with the power going out (power outage in the area) 20ish minutes before I was supposed to walk down the aisle. Luckily it was back up and running just seconds before it was go time, so no delays! I should add, with the coordinator package, the staff set up and took down all of our decorations for us, which was a huge stress reliever. Megan and the staff brought my vision to life! I can’t recommend 10 South enough!”

The Ellwood House Museum is an historic estate that offers three unique rental spaces on ten acres of gardens and grounds. These include the first floor and terraces of elegant Ellcourt, an historic Tudar Revival house built in 1899. It is available from March through mid-November and is our only venue where alcohol service is permissible. Ellcourt has an hourly rate of $350. The grounds also offer a choice of three garden spaces for wedding ceremonies. Garden rentals are available mid-May to mid-October and include an inclement weather backup location in the Hearthside Room of the Visitor Center. The rental rate is a flat fee of $500. The third venue is our more casual space, the Hearthside Room, which includes access to the galleries. It is available March through mid-November, and the rental rate is $75 per hour. All venues are limited to 80 people, and both indoor venues have full kitchens.
