Scarborough Affair, was founded by the talented floral designer Laura Ellen in the Summer of 2019 in San Francisco, CA. In 2020 Laura moved her business to Dallas, Tx. During her stay, Laura was privileged to work with some of the top Interior Designers in the Country and was the exclusive florist for Carbone/Vino Dallas. Her floral designs have graced the pages of the most renowned magazines today. Laura is a true gem in the world of floristry. I have always been passionate about flowers and my knowledge of gardening and permaculture, as well as art and design made floral design an easy occupation to fall in love with. When I'm not designing floral arrangements you will likely find me in my garden where I grow many of my own flowers, or working as a retail display artist.

He grew up in a small town near Mexicali, Mexico and spent many summers in California visiting his grandparents and family. After completing his education in Business Management in Mexicali, he knew California was where he wanted to come to start a new life. After a lot of hard work, persistence, and dedication, Ricardo learned English and earned a degree in Graphic Arts. After working as a Graphic Designer for 14 years, Ricardo's sense of style and passion for design transitioned seamlessly into the realm of floral and event design.

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

Wood & Word Blooms is run by a Jen Angle, former teacher of 20+ years and specializes in using hand-painted wood flowers along with a faux, dried and preserved florals (nothing fresh here) to bring your wedding vision to life not just for that one glorious day but forever. Besides designing for you, I also offer DIY Wood Flower Experiences to create your wedding florals alongside me in person or virtually and 1:1 sessions to help DIY brides learn to do it themselves.
