Set in the picturesque St. Croix valley, Bloom Lake Barn provides that "out of the way" country charm a short 40-mile drive from the Twin Cities. The wooden barn is enormous and contains vaulted ceilings and gorgeous chandelier and cafe lighting. In 1900, Frank D. Stout inherited part of his father’s lumber fortune, moved to Chicago, and within a few years was one of the wealthiest men in the country. Stout's was built in 1903 by Frank D. Stout as a summer retreat for his family and modeled after the famous Adirondack camps. Over the past 25 years, new cabins have been erected and we now have a total of 43 guest rooms on the Island.
