For over 90 years, The Warehouse has been at the center of Eclectic life. Built in 1928 for Lee Hornsby, the property has been in the family since the 1880s. It held commercial activity for cotton merchandising, lumber and hardware for 3 generations. In 1996, Aubrey Hornsby repurposed it as a social/cultural center. Its massive timbers, red brick walls, old-south charm, natural architectural comfort and grassy lawns inspire down-home livability. It has hosted The Alabama Cotton Festival, church/school events, concerts, theater, receptions and parties. Corporations have used it for photo shoots and as a sound stage. We have held over 600 events including 350 weddings. Upholding the historical structure, improvements have been made to ensure comfort and ease.

Cove Acre Farms was a working livestock farm for much of the 20th century, and still bears the character of those years. It was transformed into an event venue in 2014 by the Wright family. The Johnson family purchased the farm in early 2018 and have since turned it to one of the most unique wedding barns in Alabama. The barn is surrounded by farmland as far as can be seen, with a clear creek that flows through the property year round. The barn is approximately 14,000 square feet including two large, open balconies. The lower level includes bride and groom rooms with private baths. You may hold your event where you would like on the property, though we do have a few suggestions. The barn offers a large room downstairs, and a beautiful wooden dance floor and stage upstairs for indoor events. Outdoor options include: a lovely arbor in a manicured lawn, in front of mature hardwood trees, or one of several creek-side settings.

Over four decades ago, owner Dulari Smith’s father bought Loblolly Farm in Semmes, Alabama. This sprawling, 400-acre property is named after its primary crop; the Loblolly Pine. The Cedars is an event venue and vacation home rental that is part of a working cattle farm. Built in 1890 in the Greek Revival Farmhouse style, it still sits in its original location today. Early in 2019, the restoration of the original Nathan Bryan Whitfield, Sr. home began with the vision to return the historic farm home to a public place for sharing its beauty, family history and its agricultural significance with the community and others.By 1890, Dr. Whitfield’s son, Nathan built The Cedars, naming it for a grove of cedar trees that grew between the home and the road, which is now U.S. Highway 80. In April of 2009, Alabama Governor, Bob Riley, and Commissioner of Agriculture, Ron Sparks, designated The Cedars as an Alabama Century Farm. Being recognized as a Century Farm means that the farm has been in operation as a family farm for over 100 years and has played a significant role in Alabama’s history.
