Just outside of downtown Tampa sits The Orlo, a private social club housed within the historic Spafford House and ballroom. Orlo J. Spafford, the president of the Tampa National Bank, built the Orlo in 1896 to share with his son and his family. In 1922 the Orlo was sold to the Tampa Women’s Club where the addition of a ballroom was made to host formal parties and extravagant dances. This historical ballroom still stands today and is ready to host your next party or extravaganza. Some of our favorite features are our gorgeous bridal suite on the second floor. It has so much natural lighting (a photographers dream) and large enough for you and your bridal party to get ready on your wedding morning! The Orlo has been restored and still has the original wood floors, chandeliers, and grand staircase. It is the perfect blank slate for your wedding or event!

Yes, Tampa's downtown and nearby neighborhoods offer excellent venue options. Explore venues in Ybor City, a historic neighborhood with brick-lined streets perfect for engagement photos, and Channelside, which puts you near the Hillsborough River with scenic waterfront backdrops.
The Tampa EDITION is a premier downtown option with garden and modern event spaces. The downtown area is walkable, close to hotels for your guests, and surrounded by photo-worthy landmarks like Tampa Bay and historic architecture.
Other nearby neighborhoods like Hyde Park offer tree-lined streets and boutique venues. Downtown Tampa has become increasingly wedding-friendly, with improved infrastructure and a growing restaurant and entertainment scene within walking distance of many venues.
Tampa's warm climate makes it a year-round wedding destination, but timing matters. November through April offers the most pleasant weather—cooler temperatures (70s–80s), lower humidity, and minimal rain. This peak season is perfect for outdoor ceremonies and garden venues, though venues book faster and may command premium pricing.
May through October brings heat, humidity, and hurricane season, but these months often feature 20–30% lower venue costs. If you're budget-conscious, an off-peak wedding can deliver significant savings while still providing lovely weather for most of the season.
Consider booking your venue 6–12 months in advance, especially if you're targeting peak months (November–February). This lead time ensures you secure your top choice and allows vendors time to plan accordingly.
Tampa offers strong value compared to nearby markets and the national average. For a 100-guest wedding, Tampa's budget is $25,200–$37,800, which aligns with the Zola Wedding Cost Index national median of $25,000.
Compare this to neighboring cities:
- Miami: $27,400–$41,000 (notably higher)
- Orlando: $25,200–$37,800 (similar to Tampa)
- Jacksonville: $24,600–$36,900 (slightly lower)
Tampa sits comfortably below the metro average of $50,098, making it an excellent choice for couples seeking major-city amenities without premium pricing. You'll find quality venues, experienced vendors, and beautiful backdrops (waterfront, historic estates, rooftop spaces) at reasonable rates—a winning combination for budget-conscious couples.
We recommend booking your Tampa venue 12 to 18 months ahead, especially if you're planning a wedding during peak season (April through October). Tampa's popularity as a wedding destination means top venues fill quickly during these months, and you'll have better availability and pricing options by securing your date early.
If you're planning a winter wedding (November through March), you may have more flexibility with 6 to 9 months' notice. However, booking early gives you the advantage of choosing your preferred date, time, and venue setup—plus you'll have time to coordinate catering, florals, and other vendors without rushing. Popular neighborhoods like Ybor City and Channelside tend to book faster, so factor that into your timeline if you have a specific area in mind.
Tampa offers several distinct neighborhoods, each with its own wedding appeal:
- Ybor City features historic charm with brick warehouses and galleries, ideal for couples seeking character and an urban-industrial vibe.
- Hyde Park offers tree-lined streets, upscale venues, and proximity to downtown—perfect for sophisticated celebrations.
- South Tampa provides residential elegance with access to waterfront views and parks like Lettuce Lake Park.
- Channelside delivers modern, waterfront settings along the Hillsborough River with contemporary event spaces.
- Westchase offers newer venues with ample parking and accessibility for larger guest counts.
Each area has unique strengths, so consider your wedding style, guest count, and whether you prefer urban energy, waterfront views, or suburban convenience when narrowing your options.
