Sister and Niece of the Bride
Affectionately known as "The Italians," Raffaella Pines and her daughter Ludovica Oliva are Tiffany's chosen-sister and chosen-niece. Raff lived with Tiffany's family as an exchange student in the early 1980s, when Raff was sixteen and Tiffany was five. Raff was tall and she could drive and she spoke Italian, and Tiffany thought, "what more could you possibly want in life?" Raff is largely responsible for sparking Tiffany's love of languages, other cultures, and wanderlust. The Italians are family. Raff is a pharmacist and lives in Trieste, Italy. Luvi is 18 and just finished both a year abroad in Argentina and high school at the International School of Trieste. She is headed to university this fall, to study law. Tiffany loves her anyway.
Cousin of the Bride
Kim, Tiffany's first cousin, is more like an aunt to Tiffany and a sister to Shelly. A retired oncology nurse manager, Kim's faith, compassion, and deep love of quietly serving others is an inspiration to our entire family. She is a tireless champion of those in need, serving youth at her church and serving as a guardian ad litem. She lives in North Augusta, South Carolina and is the caregiver and saint of our family. Kim loves spending time with her son Lance, daughter in law Kendall, and her four grandchildren: Eloise, Clyde, Emmett, and Gus.
Flower Girl and Ring Bearer
Eloise and Clyde Cheely are the elder two children of Lance and Kendall Cheely, Tiffany's cousins. These sweet little hams will be our flower girl and ring bearer - they've been practicing hard at "walking down the island" for the wedding! Their younger siblings, Emmett and Gus, will cheer them on. They are the grandchildren of Kim Cheely, and Tiffany was Kim's flower girl. During Kim's wedding, five year-old Tiffany paused the entire ceremony to announce to her mother in front of 300 guests, "Mom! Mom! I've got to go to the bathroom!" When a bridesmaid scooped her up to shush her, Tiffany matter-of-factly stated, "You're nice but I don't want to be held. I have to go to the bathroom." We are kind of hoping for antics and a great story from Eloise and Clyde. It's kind of tradition.
