Third times a charm

It all started in 2009 at a block party, when they saw each other for the first time. Anna noticed Dave when she went to his sisters house (who lives down the street from her) to get in her pool. Anna remembers thinking he was so cute, but didn't have the courage to speak to him. Weeks later, Anna saw Dave on the first day of her Junior year in high school and realized he was a Freshmen! Of course, that did not stop Anna from still being interested in Dave and vice versa. Since she knew his family, Anna mentioned Dave to his niece, Arianna, and she gave Dave Anna's phone number. Anna remembers Dave calling and getting so nervous that she didn't pick up. After texting for about a week, they finally stopped each other in the hallway at school and the rest is history. After weeks of getting to know each other, they made it official on August 28, 2009 and have been together ever since.

Dave had a special weekend planned for Anna- a weekend getaway for her 26th Birthday in downtown Chicago. Plans consisted of a couples massage and dinner at one of Anna's favorite restaurants RPM Steak. Now Dave had been dropping hints, making Anna's mind go crazy with 'what if he proposes'. After dinner, Anna didn't know what the plan was. Dave mentioned that he wanted to take her to Navy Pier to get on the remodeled ferris wheel. Anna thought to herself that THIS was going to be the moment when he proposes. While on the ferris wheel, Dave asked two girls in the same cart where the Crystal Garden was because he had never been in there. Anna thought nothing of it. Once they got off of the ferris wheel, Anna realized it was not happening. If it were to happen, she thought it would happen on the ferris wheel. They decided to go to a bar, still at the Pier, and have some drinks. After a couple of drinks, they decided to walk to the Crystal Garden. As they were walking in, Anna noticed people sitting around a heart made out of candles and a guy standing there with a guitar. Anna was so clueless and thought there was a show going on and they both sat down. As soon as they sat down, the guy with the guitar began to sing Perfect by Ed Sheeran and in that moment Anna knew that she was about to get engaged! Tears began to fill her eyes, but tried to hold them back as Dave grabbed her hand and escorted her to the candles. At this point, Anna was bawling her eyes out and Dave began to express his love for her- then dropped down to one knee and popped the question. Of course Anna said yes!
