Jackson and I first met way back in 5th grade. We were always friends, but dating each other? That thought never crossed our minds. Fast forward to April 2019 we both ended up at Springfest, the local fair, with a group of friends. While waiting in line for the swings, Jackson turned to me and said, "Zoe, I think my phone is broken." Confused, I asked, "What happened?" With a grin, he replied, "Your number isn’t in it." A few weeks later, during Bible class, one of my bridesmaids, Jordan Cureton, asked me who I was thinking of going to the school dance with. I honestly had no idea. She started listing a few names, but none felt right to me. Then she said, "What about Jackson?" Jackson and I had hardly talked before, so when she suggested him, I just kind of smiled, and that was all she needed. Jordan grinned and said, “I've got this.” Jordan went straight to our Bible teacher, Coach Spain, who also happened to be one of Jackson's baseball coaches. She boldly told him, “Zoe needs to go to the dance with Jackson,” and Coach Spain replied, “I can make that happen.” I was so mad at Jordan for roping Coach Spain into her plan, but it was too late. That afternoon, during baseball practice, Coach Spain casually told Jackson he was taking me to the dance. And, well, here we are.
