We met through a dating app and scheduled a date. Zoë was invited to take a pickling class with some friends on the same day as our first date, and her friends said she should bring him along! Zoë was nervous about this, but when she suggested it to Drew, he said he loved the idea because he had experience with fermentation brewing beer. We had an awesome first date where we made pickles and sauerkraut, and have been cooking, crafting, and adventuring together ever since.

The weekend of Zoë's birthday we decided to take a trip to lake Dillon to enjoy a mix of Zoë's favorite things: the mountains and the water. Drew organized a fun weekend of camping and importantly kayaking on lake Dillon. We went out on the water and started kayaking out towards the various little islands on the lake. A while into paddling, the weather was starting to get a little windy, and it was clear a storm was rolling in. Zoë wanted to turn back but Drew insisted that we go to at least one island and check it out. When we got to the island we walked around a bit and then sat down on a small bluff overlooking the lake and talking about our future. Drew then pulled a ring out of his bag and proposed! The mountains have been the backdrop to our love story, and now we can't wait to celebrate and share the mountains with all of you! See you in Evergreen!
