We want a wedding with retro style to honor our parents who did not get the chance to hold a ceremony when they were young. Accordingly, you are encouraged to dress as if you were attending a wedding of your culture in the early '90s (or even earlier!). We are excited to see how this turns out!
No, we don't have a wedding registry. We'd be happy to receive any gift or "red pocket" (看着给点) from you, but gifts are absolutely not required! If you want to contribute to our honey-moon fund, our Zelle account is 203-691-0152 (Jingwen Li).
The restaurant we picked aligns with the theme. Guests will be sat at round tables, and a ten-dish family-style dinner will be served for the guests to share. Please inform us of any food restrictions so we can plan ahead. Also, feel free to take leftovers, as that is common and appropriate for Chinese weddings back in the old days.
Instead of hiring (expensive) professionals, we would like to make it more fun (to exploit the free labor of friends) by dividing the guests into groups of ten (hopefully) and assigning a coordinator for each group. The group will (in very good wishes) share a table during dinner, and the coordinator is in charge of making sure (no pressure) that everyone gets a ride, likes the food, and gets home safely.
