Just make sure to say you are booking for our wedding so that you will get our special room rate! Through the link below, you can book between Friday March 10 and Monday March 13 with garden view rooms. Included in this is the MAP meal plan, which includes breakfast and lunch OR dinner each day. The room rate including all expenses (taxes, resort fees, etc.) and the MAP meal plan is $411.35/night. Note that the discounted rates that you see online on the Mahekal site does not include taxes or resort fees, and that the rate through our room block is the cheapest option! If you would like to upgrade your room or stay a different set of nights you can call Mahekal's reservation department using the number above. The hotel will honor our discounted rates between Wednesday March 8 and Wednesday March 15 and will give a discount for the upgraded rooms as well. Take a look at their website for approximate price differences. For example, Ocean front rooms are about $100 more a night. Note that there is a 3-night minimum stay for our discounted rate. Again, make sure to say that you're booking for our wedding! Lastly, you can upgrade from MAP to all inclusive for about $100/person more a night. This of course includes unlimited food and drinks. You can either do this while booking through their reservation number, or you can upgrade to all inclusive when checking in for your stay. Please reach out with any questions!

Getting from Cancun International Airport to Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen is about a 45 minute drive from the airport. To get there, guests can choose to either grab a taxi, take the hotel shuttle, or rent a car. Grab a taxi: there are a ton of taxi companies (it's a bit overwhelming when you walk out of the airport). A taxi to the resort will cost about $60. Hotel shuttle: The hotel offers a shuttle service. Vans that can fit up to 8 people are $151 one way, and can be reserved on the Mahekal site here: https://www.mahekalbeachresort.com/services-amenities/airport-transportation. Please reserve at least 48 hours ahead of time. Car rental: If you choose to rent a car, we STRONGLY recommend using a reputable car rental service such as Alamo, Enterprise, or Avis. You can reserve a car from these companies online. There are kiosks for each major car rental company before you exit the airport, and they will call you a shuttle to the rental site, which is only a couple minutes drive from the airport. The drive from Cancun International to Mahekal is easy and mostly follows one highway the entire way.

Parking in Playa del Carmen

If you rent a car, parking is a bit of a pain since there isn't a parking lot for guests at the hotel. However, it's definitely doable. There are two options for parking. Street parking: There is plenty of street parking right by the hotel and you shouldn't have any issue finding a spot less than a block away. You can pay for parking at the nearby pay stations for $10 pesos (50 cents) an hour. The parking machines only take coins; the front desk of the hotel is more than happy to exchange Mexican dollars for coins for you. Parking meters are only enforced from 10am-10pm, which means a full day of street parking only comes out to about $6. However, you can only pay for 6 hours of parking at a time, which means you'll have to fill up the meter twice a day. Lot parking: There is a 24-hour lot a couple of blocks away, at the corner of Calle 34 and 10 Avenida. The cost is $15 USD/day.
