Rob and Tim met during the Week of Welcome at Cal Poly. His decision to chat with Tim, Austin, and Brandon over their shared area code is what led them to join Beta and create lifelong friends with the entire chapter. Tim and Kristen wanted someone personable, warm, and well spoken to officiate and immediately thought of Rob. It was also determined that Rob is trustworthy enough to be put in charge of Tim and his groomsmen...we hope.
Janey Ellis
Bridal Party
Janey and Kristen have been friends since their first meeting at Disneyland in 2018. They bonded over a mutual infatuation with the movie That Thing You Do and the rest is history. Kristen refers to Janey as "the physical embodiment of my inner monologue" and admires Janey's boldness and self-confidence. If Kristen could steal one thing from Janey it would be her period-accurate midcentury modern living room.
Stephanie Green
Bridal Party
Stephanie and Kristen met in 2008 in a college dorm room and have been friends ever since. Kristen is also friends with Stephanie's husband, Evan, and famously refused to "put in a good word" for him when he wanted to ask Stephanie out the first time. Stephanie is a wildly talented writer and dedicated professor. Kristen's favorite thing about her is her adventurous spirit. Fun Fact: Kristen and Stephanie have an annual holiday celebration called KriStephmas which includes only the two of them.
Katie Sisola
Bridal Party
Kristen and Katie have known each other since 2016 and became close friends in 2019. Katie was a huge support for Kristen during one of the most difficult times in her life. Kristen is most grateful to Katie for teaching her how to prioritize self-care without feeling guilty. Katie and her husband Brandon, Tim's best man, welcomed twin boys in November 2022. One thing Kristen would steal from Katie would be her dog, Cash.
Nikki Whalley
Bridal Party
Kristen and Nikki met at Disneyland in 2017 and have been great friends ever since. Kristen was a bridesmaid in Nikki's wedding in February 2020. Kristen admires Nikki's kind heart and generous spirit. Nikki and her husband Jon welcomed daughter Amelia in December 2022. Fun Fact: From 2017-2019 Kristen and Nikki attended 13 themed dress-up days together at Disneyland and Universal Studios (in addition to all the time they spent together in between).
Brandon Sisola
Best Man
Ever since high school, Brandon and Tim have been joined at the hip. They decided on Cal Poly together, lived in the same dorm freshman year, and watched their lives progress in lockstep. From music and travel to whiskey and history, their shared passions have developed in tandem. They have shared some of their lowest and highest moments together, and as Brandon welcomes his two new sons to the world, Tim looks forward to the many happy moments they will create.
Austin Winther
Groomsman
Austin is Tim's oldest friend, dating back to a 'Mommy and Me' class their mothers attended 30 years ago. Growing up around the corner in Mission Viejo, they were inseparable through each step of school and joined the same fraternity at Cal Poly. He shares all of Tim's favorite stories freely and repeatedly with his trademark enthusiasm and energy, always eager to create new ones with all of our friends.
Chris Briggs
Groomsman
Chris and Tim both moved down to Orange County after graduating from Cal Poly and became roommates shortly after in Aliso Viejo. Despite their marked differences in sports teams, they became fast friends as they bounced around Laguna Beach's many bars and restaurants. When Chris moved back up the Central Coast, Tim frequently joined him in Santa Barbara, SLO or Ventura to explore each new town and build new memories and stories.
Kevin Stokes
Groomsman
Kevin and Tim met the first week of college on the first floor of Tenya Hall as they explored Slack Street for the first time. Shortly after, they joined Beta Theta Pi in the same pledge class and went on to become roommates for the rest of their time in school. Nobody is more excited than our dog Poe whenever Kevin ventures down from LA and spends the night in the guest room.
