We loooooove Murphys and there's a ton of fun things to do here (just make it to the wedding on time, ok?). Get candy at Nelson's Candy Kitchen, shop the shops adorning the streets, go wine tasting (Milliaire Winery is our favorite. Sit on the patio. You'll thank us later.), visit the ghosts at The Murphys Historic Hotel, or grab food and drinks at Murphys Irish Pub, The Watering Hole, or both! Once you're parked you can walk most of the town.
Mary has deep roots connected to Big Trees, and Scott made them all the more special when he proposed on "The Stump" on 12/28/22. They were also hand fasted there 10/20/23. Enjoy a walk in the North Grove, or a hike on one of Big Trees many trails. There isn't a vacant space of beauty in this Northern California gem.
Our home away from home in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Mary's Grandma and Papa built their log cabin in the 1940s in Arnold and it's still in the family today! Hike to "The Top of the World", swim or kayak at White Pines Lake, eat at Giant Burger (a family favorite), or dine at Sarafina's Italian Kitchen. Sarafina's used to be Mary's Great-Great Uncle's cabin, then turned into the weather station, then the restaurant we know and love today. It's also where Mary and Scott dined after he proposed!
Enjoy an iced cold Sarsaparilla, take a stage coach ride, or pan for gold in Columbia State Park! Mary and Scott always enjoy a trip to the gold mining town that Mary's Great-Great Grandmother moved to in 1850.
