Zakiya and Vincent met on Instagram when Vincent slid into Zakiya's Direct Messages. While his initial words were sweet and complimentary, she was not looking for a man on Instagram! BUT, because Vincent was so smooth and initiated the conversation with such respect, Zakiya responded and found that she enjoyed her conversation with this new intelligent, eloquent, and handsome man. The two eventually exchanged numbers and decided to meet in person. They made an instant connection over the weeks and months that followed which led to them officially starting to date on January 1, 2017.

It's Valentine's Day 2021 and we are so excited to go to our favorite restaurant, MOA, for some Korean BBQ with friends Herschel and Issa. We ate, drank, and were very merry throughout the night and decided to end it with a few pictures. Little did Zakiya know, Vincent had planned the photo session as a distraction so that he could prepare to propose. While Zakiya snapped pictures of another couple, Vincent got ready behind her and Herschel and Issa started recording. As Zakiya finished the pictures and turned around she found Vincent on his knee with a ring. Zakiya was shocked and elated and said "Yes!" way more times than necessary. The ring is perfect, and even better, so is the man!
