The year was 2018, Krystal's flight in from Spain was just about to land at YVR, the very same airport that Zach was trying to navigate (and succeeding, by the way). Neither knew that that airport pickup would kickoff years of sub-optimal car ride routes together, each bringing the two closer and closer together until one day Zach would bend the knee in the most awkward way with Krystal foreseeing the proposal tens of minutes in advance.
With ring in hand after calling in an 18 year-old favour, Zach was stepping easy on his road to proposal. Unfortunately for Krystal, Zach only has one method of planning: not planning ahead at all. They went to their favourite Thai restaurant for dinner, the ring sitting like a boulder in Zach's left jacket pocket. Afterwards, a walk around Tynehead Park was offered by Zach; he was certain that wouldn't raise any alarms with Krystal (it did). After walking all of 15 minutes, Zach asked for a quick break (his "dogs were barkin'" after all). Instead of taking a seat, Zach lowered himself slowly onto one knee, fumbling for the ring in his pocket. Witnessing every one of these telegraphed moves, Krystal chose compassion and love because she knew Zach was doing his best.
