We had been counting down the days for our big road trip! Before we knew it, Christmas morning was here and we were set to go on our road trip to Zion National Park! Jose stopped by Yvonne’s house and we packed up her bags and drove off. Jose asked her to look up the directions and connect her phone so they could listen to some of her road trip jams. By the time Yvonne was done connecting her phone, she looked up and realized we were not headed towards Zion. She asked where we were going and he told her they were going to get coffee. If you know Yvonne, you know she loves getting coffee from a local coffee shop. (DISTRACTION) But Jose told her they had to stop by his apartment first if she wanted her Christmas gift. We got to his apartment complex and parked. The hunt began!! Jose told her she had to play a game to find her gift. The first clue was in the car and she had to look for it. If you know Yvonne, you know she’s very analytical. So, she started to look under, in between, and behind the seats, in books, inside jacket pockets, and so on. Jose had to stop her and give her a hint or she’d be there all day lol! She found the first note card that had the first clue. Each note card she found had a clue. Each clue had her looking around the bathroom, the stove, the mailbox outside, and finally my bedroom. The final note card was inside a brand new Bible Jose bought her with Large font. We were both laughing! Yvonne always squints when we are reading our Bibles together. The last note card said to read this verse first: 1 Corinthians 13:4 -7 “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” Then on the other side of the card it read “Turn around” And she said, “Yes!” And now we are here! Engaged!
