Matron of Honor
Hailey is Chelsea's sister and best friend of 28 years. Hailey may be younger, but has been Chelsea's most meaningful source of advice and support since childhood. Hailey has taught Chelsea to value balance and reflection. Chelsea has always said that you can't know her deeply until you know her sister, which is why she is so grateful Matt and Hailey lived under the same roof in Colorado!
Best Man
Matt and Jack have been getting into (or getting away with) trouble since they first met in kindergarten. Jack is always the life of a party and taught Matt how to have a sense of humor, even in the midst of crisis.
Bridesmaid
Chelsea and Jenna met during the first year of teaching in Indianapolis in 2012. They spent around 100 hours together each week during those first few years teaching and became parejas. Jenna is a deeply adventurous soul and has toted Chelsea across Europe, accommodating Chelsea's half-baked side adventures along the way.
Groomsman
As Matt's younger brother, Jake has put up with more than his fair share of big brother bullshit. Jake had his opportunity to square the score on his 21st birthday in Colorado. Be sure to ask Jake (or Anna) how he celebrated!
Bridesmaid
Elie and Chelsea met during their first semester at Michigan State University and lived together for the next 3 years. Elie and Chelsea shared a love for studying international politics and could often be found deep in conversation late into the night all through college. Even now, Elie calls from Australia to discuss the world and the ways we might better serve it.
Groomsman
As Matt's uncle and godfather, George was a big influence and supporter of Matt's outdoor adventures, as well as his basketball and football pursuits. Just before Matt's first backpacking trip in the 5th grade, George arrived at Matt's house with a bin of backpacking gear, including Matt's first backpack. Years later, George and Matt went on a winter backpacking trip that reignited Matt's need for adventure in the outdoors. This spark led Matt to Colorado!
Bridesmaid
Tess and Chelsea met playing high school soccer in 2005. For the past 15 years, Tess has been Chelsea's best friend and dance partner. Even though Tess attended the rival University of Michigan, she always collected Chelsea from MSU for weekends filled with football, chicken quesadillas, and dancing. So much dancing. (She'll be an easy find during the reception.)
Groomsman
Matt and Paul met in Chelsea's tiny Colorado apartment in 2018, while Chelsea was off on a snowboarding trip in California. Hours into meeting, security was called to shut down our 2 man party deeply (read: loudly) engaged in a Fortnite battle. Since then, Matt and Paul have hollered their way through many adventures and narrowly escaped a few all the way down falls.
Bridesmaid
Theresa and Chelsea met during Welcome Week 2008 at Michigan State University. Radically different learners, Chelsea often woke up to Theresa's late night painting sessions or came home to find spontaneous living room renovations--flowers were hung to the ceiling at one point. Theresa taught Chelsea to look for the beauty in everything. (It's also Theresa's birthday weekend!)
Groomsman
Kevin is Matt's closest friend in Colorado. With a shared passion for rock climbing and margaritas, this friendship is both as easy as a summer afternoon and as wild as an unsanctioned backyard karate competition.
Ceremony Reader
Molly is Chelsea's cousin and an explorer of the world--both around and within us. Molly will be sharing an original writing as a reading for the ceremony.
Officiant
Anna is Matt's older sister and lifelong friend. After her recent move to Denver, Colorado, Anna and Matt live only thirty minutes away from one another for the first time in eight years! Between Anna's thoughts on love and her loud mouth, she was the clear choice for Chelsea and Matt's officiant on their big day.
