Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Ryan Yarborough and Shannon Peterson
Please see Dahlonega.org for other items of interest and more details Be aware this is mountain country and roads are narrow and winding at times. Use caution when driving especially at night. There is much to experience around the Historic Square of Dahlonega. As you walk around downtown there are many historic markers on the buildings that provide the history of the buildings and people of Dahlonega. Around the Square are shops (visit the old fashioned General Store), eateries and 8 wine tasting rooms. Check out the gold mine shaft at the Smith House and the Chestatee Diving Bell in Hancock Park. There are 8 wineries around Dahlonega you can visit. Many have live music on the weekends. 35 min W of Dahlonega, just past Amicalola Falls is Apple Orchard Alley on Hwy 52. Over 1/2 dozen orchards with activities and bakeries/shops. BJ Reece and Hillcrest have u-pick apples. There are many trails and waterfalls in the area to enjoy.
