How We Met

She hired him...

In the summer of 2014, yet another resume slid across Megan's screen for the newest group of interns at FedBid. This one stood out a little. Due to the reference contact, who was a little eccentric. She decided to set a phone interview with the applicant. He passed the initial groups of questions and got an in-person interview scheduled with her. The day arrived and he walked nervously into the lobby from the elevator not fully understanding what to expect. For her, it was another busy season working hard to hire a class of 80-100 interns. Little did both of them know this summer was about to kick off the rest of their lives in a way they'd never imagine. ...funny how that happens. We're not a Disney couple that fell in love at first sight and rode off into a sunset. It's been a journey with the highest of highs and lowest of lows. Our first sort of official outing together was a group happy hour at the now-closed Mad Fox brewing company. After a few rounds and plenty of conversation, one of Megan's friends was not understanding an invitation to the lady's room. To which Kyle interrupted "she wants to talk about me, not use the restroom." There was always a spark and flirty emails during work, but that was the first sort of public recognition of something greater than a friendship forming. Not too long after that we shared our first date and kiss at Port City brewing company where we also hosted our engagement party years later. Six years on it's a little hard to think back on every detail. We've traveled, had a ton of fun, and discovered a lot of new things about ourselves and each other. Through it all, we have learned and experienced so much with each of you and between each other. We had our differences at times and met some terribly difficult hurdles. But we've always grown better and stronger in our love and friendship from the challenges faced. Delaying our marriage was a difficult task, but the right one. We cannot wait to celebrate with each of you soon!

COVID-19 and Other Updates

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during these challenging times. As various state and federal restrictions come into place, the daily lives of many in our country have been upended. The intentional inaction of many gives us great hope that we will get through this pandemic. We'd like to take a moment to thank the doctors, nurses, cashiers, moms, and dads invited to this gathering who are working overtime to take care of their patients, customers, and families! NEW: With the health of our guests in mind we have decided to postpone the wedding with a target date of Saturday, August 14th 2021. We are working with vendors to solidify answers so we can update the FAQ. For now, we ask for a bit of patience as we iron out the details. A big thank you for the love, patience, and generosity you've already shown us. We're heartbroken that this will have to wait for safer times, but the best things are worth waiting for. We love you dearly and hope to see you soon. For immediate updates before, during, and after the event TEXT ynwed to 31996. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Msg&data rates may apply. Only our day-of coordinator Shawn and the couple will have access to this system. Terms & privacy: slkt.io/663u
