Austin was originally my snap chat friend. We first started "snapping" in 2019. It wasn't until November of 2020 when we really started communicating on a regular basis. In December, Austin made the decision to join the Marines. Then, in February of 2021, after hours and hours of conversation I told Austin, we belonged together. Austin immediately began to regret the decision to enlist, but followed through because he is a man of his word. In June of 2021, boot camp began. I promised to be there for him for his worst, and there were some rough days in the beginning. We had to go old school and write letters to each other. After he finished bootcamp, he was overwhelmed to see all the messages I had sent. To think it all started with Snapchat! Months later, with Facetime calls, texting, and snapping each other until all hours of the night, we realized that we had similar goals and dreams. Finally, I went to North Carolina for a first-time in person meeting. When I returned to the family, my mom said "Well"? My response was----YES! He's for sure the ONE. We decided to start to plan for the future. After the first visit, I planned the next trips to Camp LeJeune. First to the military ball, then a long weekend. Austin finally made his first visit to Chicago in April 2023. After meeting the whole extended crew, Austin popped the question. This was followed by a whirlwind tour of St. Louis and Detroit to see family and share the happy news!! Neither of us can wait to start their new lives together. We decided that an intimate event was exactly what we wanted, so that we have the opportunity to spend time with everyone in attendance.
