We both used to go to the Red Mountain Multigenerational Center after work. Danielle, with her grandparents and Alex with his parents. Alex use to always strike up conversation with Poppy (Danielle's grandfather). As you may know, Poppy is not a shy guy! Fast forward a couple weeks, Danielle was on Facebook and Alex came up under Friends You May Know. It turned out Alex's roommates at the time were friends of mine. Danielle sent him a friend request and got a message back rather quick saying, “ are you the girl at the rec center that goes with her grandparents?!” The rest is history I guess! Our first date lasted about 8 hours. It was as if we both didn’t want the night to end! Haunted house, cold stone and then finally a movie...
April 2018 we planned a vacation to the Pacific Northwest. First we went to see Alex's best friend Kale and his wife Tessa in Seattle and then venture down the coast to Oregon. We had never seen that part of the country and could not wait to see the beauty that everyone talks about. Seattle was wonderful, but if you have never taken a drive down the coast in that part of the country... add it to your list! We made it to our final destination, Cannon Beach. The first night in Oregon a campfire on the beach and it could not have be more perfect. Wine, s'mores and a beautiful sunset on the beach. Just before the sun went down, Alex asked a lady walking by if she could take our picture. The sweet lady took our picture not knowing what was about to happen. As I went to take the phone after she finished taking the photo, Alex asked her "to take one more..." I turn around and I see Alex digging in his pockets and he starts talking... Dont ask me what he said because I blacked out and cant remember anything other than crying! He asked me to marry him and it was one of the best days of our lives.
