BYOR (Rod), or borrow one from the Ausable Club's fly fishing guide. A New York state fishing license is required of all persons 16 years of age and older. State licenses are not issued by the club, but information on obtaining one is available at the front desk. You can also get a license ahead of time for $10 by clicking the "view" button below. All guests must wear a club fishing button. A fishing report, available at the front desk and at the lakes, is also required.
The Ausable Club is home to a challenging 9-hole golf course. Attire for all players includes collared shirts and decent trousers, shorts or skirts. Proper golf or athletic shoes are required. We would suggest you bring your own clubs as the Ausable Club has a very limited supply. Pricing is as follows: Greens Fees: Free with activity voucher, $20 without voucher Clubs Rental: $20 Cart Rental: $12/person for 9 holes or $20/person for 18 holes
From the club, guests can access multiple trails ranging from beginner to expert in difficulty. Maps and guides to club trails are available at the front desk. Two of our favorite easy hikes are Rainbow Falls (30 minutes from the lower lake boathouse) and Indian Head (approximately 1 mile from the lower lake boathouse). Guests can walk or take the complementary bus the 3.5 miles to the boathouse. Information on bus times & longer and more challenging hikes, such as Giant and Gothics, can be found at the front desk.
Guests may rent wooden guideboats or canoes on the upper and lower lakes. Attractions include ice caves on the lower lake, and Shanty Brook, a 1-mile hike from the south end of the lower lake. Or enjoy a swim and picnic at the lower lake boathouse. Guests can walk or take the complementary bus the 3 miles to the boathouse.
Enjoy a leisurely game of bowls. Flat shoes required, cold beverage recommended. The court is located in front of the clubhouse.
The Ausable Club has 7 har-tru clay courts located throughout the property. Tennis whites and proper shoes are required on the courts.
