Our story started the summer of 2011, our junior year of high school. We had never met before, even though we went to the same school for 2 years. We ended up sitting at the same table in our study hall. We talked a lot, and were friends for a while. Fast forward to November, each of us had feeling for each other, but of course didn’t want to ruin our friendship! Eventually, we both admitted to each other that we did have feelings for each other. We realized pretty quick we both had similar personalities and wanted to give us a try. On January 12, 2012, Shawn asked me to be his girlfriend in the parking lot of Coe-Brown! He will also never let me forget he remembered it was a Thursday, and I didn’t know what day of the week it was. We continued to stay strong through high school, we even got to walk together at graduation. Once high school was over, Shawn eventually started his job at the Ship Yard and I went to UNH for my vet tech degree. He would come visit me every weekend, whether at home or at UNH. He may have even gotten a couple parking tickets at UNH for parking during off hours (still sorry for that BTW) ;) After graduation, we both worked extremely hard to save as much money as possible to get a place together. Finally after years of looking and saving, we found our land that we dreamt of. From there, we built what we plan to be our forever home! Shawn, Guacamole, and I moved in November 2019. Greg joined us in 2020. Then finally after almost ELEVEN YEARS of waiting, Shawn finally asked me to marry him. Our 3 best friends were over for NYE (Shania, Jordan, and Marc). The ball dropped and it was finally 2023! Shawn convinced me to go find Guac and give her a new years kiss (I love kissing her little face!) We found her on our bed. I was loving on her, and shawn told me to look at him. I never in a million years thought I would turn and see the most beautiful ring I’ve even seen, and excuse my language, his shit-eating grin that he caught me off guard. I was in SHOCK. After asking about 12 times “WHAT IS THAT!?”, he finally asked me to marry him. He was laughing at me because I was crying like a baby. First thing we got to do was tell our best friends what just happened! I will never forget that amazing moment. We then got to spend our first day as an engaged couple at a Patriots game, one of our favorite things to do! Since I waited 11 years, I did not waste anymore time not being married to my best friend. We’ve had our ups and down as all couples do. There has been a lot of laughs, tears, travel, dance parties, and fun had between us. We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone !
