“Hey, where’s your boyfriend?” were the first words out of Michael’s mouth. A little forward, but defintely earned a few laughs. Let’s rewind. It was a hot summer night in Las Vegas when Michael approached Elizabeth who was standing alone. They were at the popular nightclub “XS”at the Wynn (formerly know as Surrender). They spent the entire evening dancing to DJ Lil Jon and ended the night talking until 3AM. The conversation felt like they had known each other for years. They spent the whole weekend attending events until it was time to part ways. They exchanged numbers and hugged goodbye with hesitation. That same week Michael took Elizabeth on a romantic date at the Orange County Mining Co. where they began to develop a deeper connection. This was the beginning of their love story. They continued to date for about three years before Michael took on a management role that relocated him to San Francisco. Although long distance was a challenge, their relationship grew stronger as it was tested. Another year later, Elizabeth relocated to Las Vegas to finish her education at UNLV. This made it easier on their distance since Michael’s work brought him to Nevada. While this was all just a crazy coincidence, it allowed them to be closer to one another and create new memories in the city where it all began. Fast forward to 2018, they were finally at a place where they wanted to take the next step in their relationship. After dating for almost 6 years, Michael proposed to Elizabeth in none other than *drum roll please*...Las Vegas! At this point, it is very clear...what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! For a couple that does not gamble, they definitely hit the lottery when they found each other. Sometimes you find love when you least expect it. For Michael and Elizabeth, this was their story.
Michael had planned a surprise proposal for Elizabeth in Las Vegas at the Wynn hotel which is where they first met in the Summer of 2013. They were celebrating their 5 year dating anniversary so Michael planned a special evening just for the two of them. Club “Surrender” currently known as “XS” is the place where it all began, so Michael thought it would be romantic to walk past the club to reminisce. Since the first year of dating, Elizabeth and Michael have exchanged scrapbooks documenting their relationship and adventures, so it was only appropriate that Michael made a special proposal scrapbook as a gift for Elizabeth. He led Elizabeth outside the hotel to a bridge where he gave her the scrapbook that he made. As she got to the very last page of the scrapbook it read “Will You Marry Me?” and that's when Michael got down on one knee...and of course she said “Yes!”. There was a crowd of witnesses who stopped in their tracks when they realized what was happening and then immediately started cheering and clapping for the couple. He even hired a professional photographer to capture the moment with a surprise engagement photoshoot. After the photoshoot the newly engaged couple enjoyed a romantic Italian dinner at one of their favorite spots in Vegas, Scarpetta. It was an unforgettable night that will forever be cherished. Fun fact: Elizabeth was suspicious of a proposal because she heard the sharp sound of a ring box snap closed right before they left for dinner
