I know we're Mainers but let's try to keep the jeans, tees, boots, and carharts at home. Otherwise, you're in the clear! Please keep in mind this is a Maine May outdoor wedding; while outdoor heating will be available in some areas, please also bring a sweater or jacket for after the sun goes down. Additionally, we also share the great North Woods with a plethora of bugs, so we highly suggest having bug spray at the ready and to skip the scented lotions and perfumes.
We plan to offer a semi-open bar. There will be an ice trough outside sporting a few selections of beer, seltzers, and ciders free for the taking. But if you're looking for something a little stronger, the full-service bar inside will be happy to start a tab for you.
If children are included on your invitation, they are more than welcome, but please keep in mind this is predominantly 21+ event, and when there's a dance floor and cocktails involved, our wedding party is known to get a little rowdy. If this makes you uncomfortable, this may be an excellent opportunity to plan a fun couples night away.
Embrace the nature everyone! The area is known as a quiet place to escape for good reason. However, you may need to anticipate your needs ahead of time. The nearest grocer is approximately 40 minutes away in Bingham. Also the local general store (we love you Berry's) which only carries the essentials (gas, beer, and basic dry goods), closes at 7pm sharp!
Maybe! You have been warned that often times service is limited to areas such as accommodations and restaurants with wifi. That being said, there are NO SERVICES SUCH AS RIDESHARING APPS OR FOOD DELIVERY in the area.
Bottom line; it's simply the best. The greater Forks area has been a haven for us throughout our relationship; a place to run away, reconnect, enjoy the presence of stellar humans, and be our most authentic selves during any break we were given! We want to share this magical place with you all, as well as support some of our talented local friends and vendors. So come breathe the clean air, feel the calm, and enjoy the festivities.
