We Do: Always & Forever

On the last day of January in 2021, JaLiyah was just recovering from COVID-19 and took a trip to her favorite place, Walmart, during a blizzard. Clint, better known as Vonte, was out with his business partner and stopped JaLiyah in her tracks to promote his artist’s music. JaLiyah did not want to hear what he had to say, and just wanted to get back home under her blanket. Vonte was not intimidated by her attitude, though. He ended the conversation by asking for her number, and JaLiyah gave it to him. She knew then that he would be different. Almost 2 years later on New Year 2023, they started the Sunday at church as always and went to family’s house after. Vonte had told JaLiyah that they needed to stop DT on the way home, yet JaLiyah never suspected a thing. She dropped him off, parked the car, and waited. A few minutes later, Vonte called her saying he needed her to come to him immediately. Not knowing what could be going on, JaLiyah got out the car and rushed to him. She saw him standing in the middle of State Street with the CPD and K-9 unit, then he was gone. The officer directed her towards the front of the police car where Vonte was already on one knee. Boy asks girl to marry him. Girl says yes! The rest is a story to come…
