Myra and William met in August 2022 at a recruitment event hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters. Myra was there to help recruit new mentors, while William was seeking to become a Big Brother. When Myra first saw William, she was immediately drawn to his smile and his beautiful brown eyes. William was equally captivated by Myra's smile and her bubbly personality. They struck up a conversation, and Myra shared the details of the program with William. Myra asked for his number to keep in touch in case he had more questions about the program (but in truth, she was hoping to get to know him better). They exchanged numbers, and a month later, they had their first date. On their first date, Myra invited William to one of the local nature trails where they walked and chatted. After working up an appetite, William invited Myra to brunch where they ate and got to know more about each other. Not wanting the date to end, William suggested going to another place for dessert, and they shared a crepe. William has been feeding Myra ever since. They would go on to spend the next year traveling and exploring new places, enjoying time with their friends and family, and even taking on the responsibility of raising a new puppy together. In March of this year, Myra suggested taking couples photos to commemorate the amazing year they had spent together. Unbeknownst to her, William used this opportunity to not only capture couple’s photos in the beautiful city they now call home but also their proposal!
