Katherine, sad over her ailing dog, felt some time spent at Jax Pride Festival with her friend Alex would cheer her up. That same day, Tramaine, sad over his car being in the shop, was also at the festival waiting on his mother for a ride home. Being the greedy girl that she was, Katherine hunted for something to eat when Mama B’s Recipe’s mouthwatering red beans and rice caught her eye. She approached the food stand as a slender guy with a head full of locs, sat unbothered by her presence. She inquired about the prices, menu items, and where she could find this food in the future. Still unamused he replied, “I don’t know, let me ask.” The more she asked the less he responded until she jokingly criticized him. “Why are you at the front if you don’t know anything?” He smiled, “Look, this ain’t even mine. I’m here because of my mom.” The exchange was cut short by the aroma of spices and seasonings. As Katherine spoke to Mama B about her food truck aspirations, Mama B cleverly snuck in the fun facts that her son Tramaine was single, had a good job, and no kids. With food in hand, Katherine walked back to meet up with Alex. She thought “Hmm, he was cute” and looked back to get one final glance at the guy at the food stand. He was gone. At that same time, Tramaine was searching for the cute girl at the food stand. He convinced himself that this would be his only chance to try to get her number. While looking at the empty chair at the food stand, Katherine blindly walked forward, bumping into a tall slender bundle of locs. She looked up, they smiled.
