We met during Laura's first year of graduate school at an orientation happy hour, and were introduced by a mutual friend. We talked throughout the night, played bar games, and Laura judged Will for drinking beer directly out of a pitcher. Our first date was the next week. We spent four hours talking, and very little time eating, much to the dismay of the waitress. Over the following years we'd talk books and science, play board games, and travel all over the world, from New York and Chicago to Madrid and Munich. We've goofed off together, baked together and built a life together. We can't wait to celebrate the beginning of the rest of our journey with you. Love, W&L
Will and I headed to North Carolina for a weekend to visit our friends Ashton, Alvin and their doggo, Bryn. Little did I know that Will had been planning the weekend with them behind my back! We spent a lovely day playing board games, exploring a brewery, and playing arcade games before Will suggested we all go check out a bookstore nearby that his sister Monica had told him about. Each time we travel to a new city we love to find an independent bookstore and bring back a bookmark or tote bag as a memento. After a long hunt for parking (during which Will was nervously pacing inside, I've been told) we arrived at the adorable bookstore. I began browsing assuming, like any normal person would, that we were only there to look at books. But Will corralled me into a private corner of the bookstore, luring me with the promise of Paris travel books, and then got down on one knee. We were both so thrilled and happy that we immediately started laughing. Not only was the proposal perfect for the two of us but thanks to Monica and Emily, he surprised me yet again with a beautiful book tote bag painted specially for us.
